Must admit I flip-flop on the moyes question, remember wanting him gone in his first spell always thought he stayed 3 years to long his football was turgid and awful to watch.

This second spell I was in two minds about his appointment but have to admit he’s done an excellent job of steading the club and would never have thought he’d get us close to European footy. But the trouble with Moyes in my eyes is that he will never change the style of football he plays, he still plays the same as he played in his first spell.

I think his coaching style has not evolved over time and nor will it. Our passing is woeful, our ball retention is dreadful our movement in and out of possession is practically nonexistent. We can’t retain the ball under even the modicum of pressure. If I thought we could get a Glassner or an Iraola I’d be all over it like a rash but I’m not sure we can.

If players can't pass the ball by the time they come into the orbit of any Premier League clubs 1st team they're not going to be any use. Managers arent going to improve their passing - that has to be on the individual player IMO.

I think one thing Barry seems to have going for him is " strikers luck"...Beto must be fuming, runs around gets nothing. Barry comes on, gets gifted a backpass from Guehi ( which he finished nicely tbf) and a tap in from Rohl. Other times he scores with his arse...credit where credit is due, he seems to be getting better at putting himself in the right spot

Its a good point BUT people are on here BECAUSE, it didnt finish 3-2...and we didnt beat 18th place West Ham and we didnt hold on against a blah Liverpool...Moyes is a nearly man.

He wins some, loses some and draws some...so did Dyche and Allerdyce, doesnt mean they are great coaches..

Allardyce is a very good coach and manager, whether we like it or not. Not everyone can be a generational talent. He was years ahead in terms of science etc.
