2025/26 Jack Grealish

I don’t want to catch up on 15 pages of ‘Jack had a few beers’ but I think it’s a disgrace that he’s portrayed as some kind of alcoholic because he gets pissed occasionally, everyone needs to blow off steam sometimes and then most important thing to me is when he wasn’t injured he always lasted 90 minutes and was actually pivotal in us holding onto some narrow victories by slowing it down, holding the ball, winning free kicks and keeping it simple.

There’s an argument he’s not the perfect addition to the squad because Ily is a left winger and we need a striker and right back far more but overall it’s been a pleasure having Jack on loan, his performances, character and charity work have all been excellent, and as long as we can strengthen the positions we need to on top of signing him, then I’d love to sign him.

I've enjoyed watching Jack. He's quality. He's also nearly 31 and needlessly appears comatose in newspapers. City clearly have a problem on their hands. If they want us to take it off them, what are they going to do to sweeten the risk for us?

He's a great player and I think we'd do well to sign him for an acceptable fee (whatever that is). I think the interest in seeing him apparently plastered is because it makes him seem normal to at lot of people. But for a lot of people (me included) I can't help but wonder why you would do this if you're a professional sportsperson. It's like Teddy Sheringham smoking at half time in the 90s. Why, when taking care of your body is surely what you should be doing? It's not that they can't be normal, but it seems odd to me.

I’d argue that timing is everything

If Jacks getting pissed a day or two before a game, I’m fuming, genuinely that’s not on, but he was fit and sharp every single match he was called upon, to the point that before his injury people were saying he was getting too many minutes!

Sheringham smoking at half time is different imo, that’s daft, but Jack getting smashed (if he even was we don’t know) when he’s not going to be playing for months seems fine to me personally, especially when during his injury he’s also continued to be way more involved than a loan player would be normally, coming to matches and doing all his great charity appearances.

He could have stayed at City, put his feet up.

He came to Everton, did well and pushed Everton’s profile up.

Spoke highly of the fans and club and seems to enjoy it here. If we can get him for decent value we would be daft not to. He would improve a lot of teams in the prem. if he has a few beers in rehab who cares? It’s what happens on the pitch that counts.

I'm not promoting smoking, but Sheringham did play til he was in his 40's..
"Slonche" to another 10 yrs Jack :pint2:

Joking apart
Let him do the talking on the field..

Big Dunc concurs
Dunc, by his own admission, wouldn't have had anything like the number of injuries nowadays that he had back in the day, even with his lifestyle.

30 years ago, nobody understood the importance of core strength conditioning in preventing hernias etc.

You're going to prolong your career if you stay off the ale, of course, but modern understanding of fitness is helping everyone

Can’t let that go, you’ve absolutely murdered Sláinte there🤣

Edit
unless you were talking about Beyoncé’s sister in which case apologies (but still spelt wrong)

Part of me likes to think that Grealo and @Darren78 would be best pals.

A long weekend in the Dam during the Summer break, neither of them being able to understand a word the other was saying, but bonding over hash cakes and gallons of proper Amstel, all whilst wobbling around town on their hire bikes, with one of them inevitably ending up in a canal.

Just think of the holiday of the holiday snaps from that one 💙
