Saw him at Otterspool Recycling Centre the other week. Must of been getting rid of his working class memorabilia.

Quite possibly yes. I've said before, when people talk about the club needing to improve the corporate side of things and make more money etc, this is how they do it. I'm not saying I like it, but I understand how it works. There are a lot of people who seem to think the club should improve their commercial performance and increase revenue streams but not in a way that impacts them at all and not in a way that they believe is in any way morally ambiguous. Unfortunately in the real world that just isn't how these things work.

Yes, Commercial Revenue is not code for Corporate Charity. There needs to be some sort of return or value in the money that comes into the club.

I doubt our fanbase would see anyone off. We endured Kenwright for 25 years and clapped him like seals when he appeared on the jumbotron: "One of us, a true bloo".

He still had his defenders - particularly "Evertonians" in the media" - when he slandered the entire support in Headlock-gate.

Nah, we get what we deserve.

One way or the other we'll see the true colours of these Americans in the summer. But prepare to be underwhelmed by the fanbase if a little resistance is required. Many of them are more worried about climbing the stairs in the stands and the availability of donuts than the team's fortunes on or off the pitch.

Kenwright was seen off in 2009 when fan groups revolted and put paid to his (Green and Earl's) Kirkby Dome plans. He was effectively sidelined from that point even though loads of Everton fans thought he was "a good blue".

Headlockgate was just the coup de grace.

I thought January perfectly summed up the new owners' aspirations for Everton: several Champions League spots well and truly up for grabs and utter radio silence from the club. The manager afforded a meagre last-minute kid from Chelsea on loan.

I'm willing to revise my opinion on them this summer, in the hopes that they simply didn't trust Moyes to spend more money after the huge failures made last summer.

They will have had a full year to simmer on the woeful recruitment processes from last pre-season, and I fully expect, if the owners want Everton to challenge for the top 4-7 spots, that significant money is spent and early on in the window too.

If it isn't, my January assertions were spot on and we're continuing to be a nothing club until we are once again sold, whenever that may be.

Is there a need for a step up? If you're a specialist, you're a specialist. Moshiri hadn't a clue and overpromoted someone who was clearly out of his depth in the new role. But then he kept Bill close, so he had form...

Nail on the head here. There's a lot of conjecture in terms of who chose who in the summer, but the cold, hard truth of the matter is that the owners...

... have invested in the likes of Dibling, (£35m plus add-ons), Röhl (going on this year's accounts) and Aznou (£8m) to have little playing time.

Maybe their lack of appearances are justified; perhaps, as you said, it's primarily due to the manager's preferences. Either way, it is money spent.

The owners aren't going to throw more money at the squad if the same was to occur, with the caveat being the transfer committee has evolved since then.

I'm as frustrated like everyone else is that we've potentially spurred an opportunity to push for Europe, but the reality is we're still financially vulnerable.

This is going to be a longer journey than we as fans would hope for, but it is what it is.

Personally don't see the problem with the Cannes trip. I mean it's absolutely **** poor value for money based on the itinerary and if you're that ******* thick to blow that kind money on it crack on

If they can coin it in off the rich people to hopefully leave working class fans paying less. Then im all for it. No one is forcing anyone to buy the packages. If people fancy it and can afford it, good on them.
