2025/26 Jack Grealish

Evertonians who dont wanna sign Jack Grealish deserve Jack Harrison.

Weirdos
I'd've thought every rational Evertonian would think twice before spending what might be fifty percent of our entire summer wage budget on one player who plays in the same position as one of our best players, who is some way past his peak and will have spent months out through a serious injury. Unless of course, they only think we need to sign one or two more players max to compete for the very top, in which case... I think they might be the weirdo? The flaw of course is in the idea of a "rational Evertonian" - not sure the two go together!

It's all about what sort of deal you can do as far as i'm concerned. He's a lovely footballer, i've enjoyed watching him and he's done well, but I just don't see a player we need to be breaking the bank for. Turning 31 at the start of the season, coming off the back of a 6 month lay off and not necessarily taking the best care of himself off the field isn't exactly a checklist for the things I want us to be recruiting I won't lie. If we can get him on a deal that makes sense i'd be more than happy with it but in terms of where we are as a club I'm just not sure him coming in on a deal worth £60m or whatever all in is actually going to get us anywhere.

In some ways I almost feel the exact opposite to what you're saying, there are some fans who seem to think we should be honoured that someone like Grealish thinks we're worthy of his time and act like he's some kind of global megastar rather than a slightly faded version of the very high quality (but not genuinely top drawer) player he was. Ideally i'd like us to be signing someone who's going to be worth £100m in the future, not someone who was worth £100m in the past.

Nah, Crabs walk sideways and Jack only goes forward and back.

Grealish started well but he was extra motivated at the start of the season partly to prove Guardiola and critics wrong and also to try and get back in the England squad in a World Cup year. Once it became clear in the international breaks Tuchel wasn't going to pick him, I think he lost a bit of that edge.

Still a quality player but a bit like watching Gazza in an Everton shirt and some of the oldies Walter signed. You know they've seen better days and you're just getting flashes.
who saw the plans?

He was one of the best players on the pitch in his last game for us.

Class might get older and lose pace, but class still exists.
