The point is let's say, Moyes is given a new contract 3 years at the end of the season he is also given £100 plus mil to spend in the summer, come Oct /Nov we are out of the coca cola cup or whatever its called and just below mid table having lost our home game v Liverpool after it being close, the fans again unsettled do TFG then sack him and pay him off or keep for his contract?

If we dont get Europe in this season he cant be handed a contract extension. Top half might allow him to see his contract out.

If he fails to get Europe though and the owners extend his contract they are sending out awful signals about their ambitions for this club.

Just get him down the road and end this. The manager they wanted is possibly still available, and if he isn't then there's a few good ones looking for a job who wont need compensating.

We're a weird bunch going from one extreme to another

Gone from the last 3-4 seasons at the bottom end, 2 of them literally last game to stay up, to straight being comfortably midtable, near Europe, knowing full well the squads lacking...

...And its not good enough.

We know whats lacking. If Moyes gets what the team and he needs and THEN fails...then its time to look on.

Meanwhile. Its his first full season back and we've done well from where we were.

Flirting with Europe is as best it could have been. Mid table is what we are. As for the manager. Yesterday is where he frustrates me. Imo Barry shouldnt have been anywhere near the starting line up. He had other options to go with. But then i havent really changed with Moyes since his first spell over 20 years ago. I often disagree with stuff he does. But if we'd been knocking on the door of Europe for the past few years then you can seriously ask questions. But as you say. We havent. Going forward now. Its time to have a look around.
