2025/26 David Moyes

Alright disregard the part about spurs then, is anything else I've said really wrong? Have we not rolled over for every big team we've played? Been knocked out both cups by average to bad sides? Failed to really integrate any of our new signings other than Dewsbury-Hall?
Sorry I know you raised a big point and I only took one thing out of it 😂

A lot of what you said I agree with.

I do wonder if this new contract will be still be given in the summer, the optics of rewarding him for potentially finishing 13th/14th aren’t great let’s be honest.
Keep saying it, there is NO way the apathetic owners move Moyes on. He is a ‘safe pair of hands’ that will keep us from doing a Spurs.

They don’t particularly care if we kick on, so long as we keep making money for them.

Pickford is far from the issue here. We are 100% better with him
I agree at the moment as there is nobody else but we need another keeper mate. The defence is shaky at corners as we loose a header it’s generally a goal. He’s a line keeper. He flaps at crosses. Teams are doing it because it’s a weakness of his and the team.
Keepers we have are poor as well. Needs addressing.
We’ve conceded too many from corners. I can think of 5 straight away. One is too many.

He's not scared. Keeping it tight is all he knows. He's incapable of sending a side out to competently attack. His comfort zone is all about organisation, spirit, and gritty defending. Don't ask him to create. That's why his record of signing centre-forwards is appalling. He hasn't a notion at that end of the pitch.
I'm not asking for constant attack. I'm asking for a team who actively tries to win games in the last quarter. We equalised today and didn't much after to try and win. The team at the bottom who were nervy and had just conceded, were the team who were willing to try and win.

Doing his best to scupper the best chance of European footy in years.

He will speak about the penalty, as he should as it’s a total disgrace, but wham we’re better than us for large parts of the game, and wanted it more, which we can’t accept.

Still don’t think it’s the right call to be extending Myko and Keane - we need so much better.

I also cannot get over his use of the squad and subs this season - simply horrendous.

We're in the bottom half of the table. If anyone in the club thinks he's done a terrific job then I'd be extremely concerned.

He's done a fair job. 11th place is average. Certainly not terrible but definitely not terrific.
Another way to look at it is to say we are still 3 points off 6th place and have caught up with teams we had fallen behind like Brighton, Bournemouth and others.

The Moyesiah was very pleased with the grittiness of that equaliser, the resilience, the spirit. Constant attack? You'll do well to get sporadic attack with this fella.

I see us getting 4-6 points in the last 4 games.

That'd be 3/5 points more than Dyche managed in our points deducted season and all the turmoil the team faced not knowing if they'd face more than that...and Moyes has had £110M to spend last summer when Dyche was selling players for big negative net spending.

It's atrocious if that plays out.

we used to be the best of the rest under Moyes...

now we are the average of the average mid table under Moyes...

The PL has evolved since his first spell. The club's administration has failed to propel us forward ever since Moyes left. It's hard to dislike him, as he has become part of our modern DNA. Yet, results like today make you wonder if he is the right manager in order to take the club back to being a top 6 team.
Nice post.
Regarding the last sentence what's your call on that?

No not at all mate, dw wasn't annoyed at your post. Just generally fuming here at the complete capitulation of our season and desperately trying to convince myself that there's a chance next season could be different.

Fwiw people saying there's no chance he goes could well be completely correct. That would be a real kick in the balls for me though and would probably radicalise me into being a critic/skeptic of TFG. I want to believe!
