I’ll be absolutely gutted if we lose this, whereas normally I come into these games resigned to a loss

We played them off the park for 60 minutes after they had a freakishly good start against us at Anfield (probably the best they played all season - definitely Gravenberch and Salah) and we’re going in with better form and what will be a huge atmosphere too…

Honestly I know it doesn’t help our league position but I’d rather win this and lose to West Ham than draw this and beat West Ham - I think it’ll be huge for our new home to build up an air of invincibility no matter who turns up

it’s as moyes as drilled it into them

Love how Moyes gets credit for everything good the players do on the pitch but if the players mess up on the pitch he cant be held responsible for " individual mistakes"...great job to have when you think about it

I think we got beat 3-0 at Anfield in that game…maybe 1983?

The 5-0 defeat at Goodison was a Saturday 3pm kick off and I listened to the second half on the radio when I was a student in Birmingham…I can still picture the scene that afternoon and exactly where I was living and sitting.

Me too...definately not on live tv...just remember the scores scrolling on Grandstand ...very depressing afternoon that one!

Funny one this...first time in a long time, if we get the tactics and tempo right, we should win this. They have some better players, we are playing as a better team. That being said, after years of disappointment in this fixture, my mind is already in the default " hate this game, we never win" which protects my psyche Deep down though Im hoping for an Andy King moment, my first memory of beating tbese t#ssers!
