Tottenham Hotspur

It was a huge factor in staying up. The Hill-Dickinson is magnificent, but when you want 130 odd years of history urging you on, well we'll need another 130 years at the new place.
Personally - and you're obviously free to disagree - I don't see Goodison-era Everton and Hill Dickinson-era Everton as distinct entities.

I still think about all those great and terrible moments when I'm at HD. We've brought them with us.

The state of that decision. The fans are trying to help in any way they can and you essentially tell them to sod off.

Absolutely tone deaf from De Zerbi IMO. A big coach welcome to pump the players up and get the atmosphere rocking? No ta, instead I'd prefer that they arrive early so I can make them do some extra anaylsis work. Imagine the toxicity if they don't win it now.

They really are in a shambles, aren’t they?!

The thing about management is you really don’t know the situation until you’re in it.

On paper it’s easy to look at their squad and say ‘they’ve got by far the best players in the relegation battle, I just need to keep it simple and we’ll get the results we need’… then you get the job and you go there in person…
These are some very good footballers and athletes but they’re people, and they’re people who have forgotten how to win football matches and at the end of the season, momentum is everything!

Liverpool have much ‘better’ players than we do but who fancies the derby on Sunday? We have good form, our players are fighting and believe they can do it - their players have just been dumped out of two cup competitions 4-0 and are making insane excuses in the press. Spurs are the same compared to their relegation rivals - a better team on paper, but Forest, Leeds and West Ham all have fight and momentum…

When DCL cleared that ball off the line after Leeds went 1-2 up against United on Monday night, the first thought that crossed my mind was: ‘Spuds are well, and truly fcked.’

I don't think a lot of people have actually sat down an absorbed just how terrible they've been.

It almost defies comprehension, which is why I think there has been such widespread disbelief. I still don't think it's universally sunk in where they are and how dire the situation is.
So I agree but it’s actually the job of these pundits and they didn’t see it Coming .

My apologies for repeating myself but When we ended up down there in 1994 I don’t think we knew what was happening but subsequently we’ve seen it coming down the line . The whole spurs thing , regardless of what happens now , has happened because they’re one of your big six and they’re incredibly dreaming about the champions league final hence all the stupid songs about Lincoln away .

The fans , players and pundits thought they’d just organically get out of it. It reminds me of that forest side who were 7th then went down the next season because it’d never happen and the same with West Ham and Leicester . The relegation route is almost a carbon copy . Both West Ham & Leicester chopping and changing managers with squads streets ahead of their rivals . It’s been overused in this thread but they’ve sleepwalked into it.

I suppose he’s got to try something hasn’t he ? They struggle under ange’s style , the friendly manager in frank couldn’t get a tune of them and neither could his replacement the drill sergeant so it’s a case of throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks .
So maybe they are not too good to go down and their players aren't as good as what everyone makes out. They have had numerous managers with numerous styles in the last 2 years alone, last year 17th this year currently 18th, maybe they are in the right position for the 'quality' they have.

One season yes their could be mitigating factors but 2 seasons....

Again we agree , it was only a couple of weeks ago spurs fans were in here saying they’d get out of no drama . It’s been like boiling a frog to so many , fans and media alike . While for the rest of us familiar with the situation it’s been glaringly obvious what was happening .

The only positive for spurs fans will be if they get out of it they won’t casually stroll into the situation again . However feels like too much damage has been done

Whilst the fans are essentially the same, hopefully the 2 will blur nicely into one.

In another 30 or 40 years not many will remember Goodison and hopefully those who remember only the Hill-Dickinson as our home will never have to worry about relegation battles and just have to deal with sarcastic opposition fans thinking they're entitled due to all the successes that they've seen.

Anyway back to Tottenham. They're shi...
