First West ham won the cup winners cup in 1965 have won nothing else in Europe and to put them above villa would make a mockery of the list which I agree with as all the teams at some time have been the team to beat all this crap from sky about the big four is all hype the richest four maybe but over the length of time the league has been going Aston Villa ,Everton ,Arsenal, L/pool and Man United Chelsea are the equivalent of trailer trash(y)

when i was a kid there wasnt a big 3 or a big 4.

there was everton and there was liverpool............. thats it.

spurs man utd , arsenal , and a lesser extent west ham were the chasing pack.but none of these 4 were much better than a modern day aston villa.

people think newcastle and chelsea are big clubs , well thats just a myth .
both are [Poor language removed] hole little clubs with very little meaningful history who have tried to buy a legacy and a false beleif that they are and have always been a major part of english football heritage.

wether they like it all not , bolton fulham even notts forest have more of right to be called a big club than chelsea or newcastle.

both belong with leeds in the lower leagues.

well theres uk big and theres global big.

uk big - yeah sure everton are big - massive in fact in terms of support and heritage.. and heart!

global big - no. chelski, the arse, manu and rs - end of.

walkdown most high streets, night markets in asia, africa and beyond and theirs is the only visible presence.

its just marketing and branding [Poor language removed]. money. sadly thats the only big in global footy.

give me big hearts any time - viva la fa cup!

I believe I was the only one that mentioned west ham and I have retracted that comment. Sorry coyney. Your mockery jibe is to late :P:P

We are pretty much unknown internationally. Whenever i travel to Europe its always RS or Man U shirts...one italian guy i spoke to didnt even know where Everton were from until i told him. The 3 biggest clubs in England have and always will be the RS, Man U and Arsenal...that will never change. Then Chelsea are next with the likes of Spurs and Newcastle behind them. Then i think we come in along with Man City and Villa (though Villa have won a European Cup)....i would have put Leeds alongside Newcastle and Spurs before they imploded. So...i think Everton are about joint 7th in England in terms of size.

Biggest 6 British clubs in order....

1.Man U
2.RS
3.Celtic
4.Arsenal
5.Chelsea
6.Rangers

It is pointless harking back to the days when we had crowds of 70,000 plus, when every club in land looked on at our success. Over the years the people responsible for running the club have made some calamitous decisions by way of managers, signings and investment. When we reached new heights in the 80's our success was snatched from our grasp by a certain third party. We failed to get world wide coverage at the time it mattered most.

All that said we can and we will come again, this Phoenix isn't dead and the embers are starting to glow, soon the flames will start(y)

Its what being a Evertonian is all about remember 1970 I thought for sure our time had come then as you say the bann in 80s its always seems to steps forward one back for us while you know who get all the luck(y)

I still can't believe how we broke up the best midfield we have ever had (HKB)and what for, nightmares

The question should be, how big are we capable of becoming? Capable of getting more than 60,000? Should be. We play in the biggest league in the worldat a time when fans are becoming increasingly less likely to support the team of their fathers and their local club. I believe ur potential is massive. Of course, ambition is about ifs not buts!

Fairly small I'd say. We havent won much in the past 16 years, and according to sky thats when football was invented:dodgy:

Welcome to the forum mate.

If you believed everything Sky said SAF would be leader of the United Nations by now. They can insult us as much as they like but they can't change history no matter how much they'd like to:o
