Summer transfer window.

Moyes has ultimately done a great job this season and shut up a lot of posters including myself who were doubting him.

Early noises about our summer business is making me a bit nervous though I have to say. Myko contract extension? Interest in trippier?? Liam fkn Delap?????

If you are Moyes and you are asked to sign an extension particularly if you have qualified for Europe - i think he will look for more power internally when it comes to recruitment mate.

I know he has power to sign off - but i think that a bit difference in terms of his and what other targets people bring to the table.

Trippier and delap are lazy links being rekindled.

Extending Myko is very sensible - but doesn't mean don't sign a left back, it's just not priority compared to other positions

I think we need to be looking at 23-25 year olds as they will be starting to peak in a season or two. We have a spine of 30yo'ds who can help guide them until they are the senior players.

Trippier I think yeah, I doubt there's much in that. Certainly hope there isn't. Delap though - Boyland has been suggesting pretty much all season that we're interested in going back in for him. Doesnt make it a guarantee but it's something we're genuinely considering. Would be so stupid imo.

I can see the thinking behind a Myko extension in some ways but at the same time I'm not sure how sensible I can ever feel it is to extend one of the worst players at the club.

Also obviously doesn't bode well for Aznou and suggests that next season he still wouldn't be trusted even as second choice, which I find pretty disappointing personally.

Counter point…He’s on a free. Very good player. And on a 3 year contract lets Illy play on the left while letting us invest transfer money elsewhere. If you actually watch him play you wouldn’t be making the Sandro comps. Even before this season, Wilson was a very good player. Sandro never was.
I've seen plenty of him mate.

He doesn't contribute much in terms of creativity from open play (stats back this up), he's not really got any pace to speak of, he just has a good left foot.

I think you're well overstating it to suggest that before this season Wilson was a "very good player", I'd have him as an average Premier League player who strikes a ball well with his left foot and delivers a good set piece - we've already got one of those.

Last thing I want us doing is signing players who are looking for their last big contract.
