Strangely I agree it will feel like an anti climax. To be honest the Conference League would be a successful season too

Europe of any description would be successful; top half but no Euro spot is good enough to keep Moyes his job, but not spectacular. Not in this league.

Cahill. Big Dunc became a bit of a liability towards the end as refs were always looking for slightest slip up from him as an excuse to send him off, it got so ridiculous, when it was clear he was the one who was been fouled refs would send him off accusing him of doing the fouling, against himself. All decisions went against him.

Farai Hallam appointed referee for Everton vs Brentford​

The Premier League have appointed Farai Hallam as the referee for Everton’s clash against Brentford.

Hallam will be joined by the following officials.

• Assistants: Simon Bennett, Steve Meredith
• Fourth official: Andy Madley
• VAR: Michael Salisbury
• Assistant VAR: Adrian Holmes

The young referee has never actually officiated an Everton match, in fact, he’s only refereed two Premier League games in his short career.

It's a mid table match that isn't on TV with two teams who are probably battling for a Europa League place. Seems a good time for him to get experience really. And given how rubbish/biased we seem to think all the refs are, maybe a new one could be an improvement.

They spent almost the same as us in the Summer and they have a decent starting XI, wouldn't be devastating at all, quite a lot of their players get into our starting XI.

We kept all of our key players and spent £100m.

I'd expect us to finish higher. People were talking about them being relegated due to losing half their starting XI.

They lost Wissa and Mbeumo, two big players, but replaced them very well. We might have spent £100m but our squad was garbage to begin with so it just propped it up.

Their best XI is about on par with ours, so to finish behind them isn't devastating.

Don't think we can carry on all this Europe talk without a win from this. Level on points and with a worse GD so a draw wouldn't do it.

I'm fully expecting us to draw or lose this though.
