Summer transfer window.

According to the web, he is contracted still till 2029? We hold the cards here...
I'm going to shut up about this soon but there's no world we miss Europe, a few CL teams start bidding upwards of 65m, we tell Ndiaye he's staying put, and everything works out just fine. I'd say at absolute best in that situation we negotiate a new contract with a release clause for 2027 or something.

Straight up blocking a player of that quality, at that age, from taking the step to play at the level *they belong at* almost never ends well. Players careers are short and they get only one shot at it.

Ndiaye is on 45 grand a week.

If he's not rocking the boat now he will be.

If the club aren't in talks with his agent about a vastly improved deal then they should be.

I agree that wages of 45 grand a week for a player of Ndiaye’s quality is below market value, and I agree that there will be a request from his agent to have those wages increased. But I think Everton will be more than willing, and more than capable, of facilitating that.

That’s not really rocking the boat, though. That’s actually Everton happily tying him down to a new contract.

But I don’t foresee any sulking, whinging, or demanding to try and prise a move away from Ndiaye. He will sign a new contract at Everton and he will be over the moon about it.

I think love is important to N'diaye, because he went to his home club and it backfired. You can tell he feels loved at Everton, like Richarlison did and despite money being huge these days, it's still not always everything to some players.

You're right but his performances warrant an improved deal.

He deserves parity with the top earners and if it doesn't happen resentment will creep in and ultimately a club will step in to pay his worth.
It will have already been started behind the scenes, we don't just need a "bobble" to know that..
A new contract gives him a massive increase plus a release clause..
It can only benefit him.

….the reality these days is if a player wants to leave a club they invariably do.
But..

1. I think he likes it here and especially if we can give him Europe next year or

2. If he does want to go, we do not have to let him go unless we get a big big deal for him 80m+ minimum.

We still have all the cards here

….yep, as I say, if a player wants to leave they tend to leave.

It’s not a totally dissimilar situation to Branthwaite, who was happy to sign an improved deal amid interest from elsewhere. Ndiaye might well be happy to do the same.

The other factor with Ndiaye is Gueye. Obviously he’s coming to the end of his career but the two of them seemed joined at the hip, not sure if he’s got another year or not. The World Cup could be another, maybe an improved deal offer before he goes.

If I was Ndiaye, I’d stay - and I think he will - but I’d wonder why Grealish was paid almost 500% of my wages for a similar output and want something to be done about it.

Anderson
Baleba
Joao Gomes
Gray
Scott
Tonali
Wharton

7 midfielders all linked with moves this summer.

They surely wont all be snapped up by a top 4 side.

I wonder if we could attract one of the lower priced ones.

Not a priority position but if we could move Rohl & Alcaraz on for circa £30mil then perhaps we could be in the mix.

That Scott is a cracking player.

I mentioned in here a few weeks ago if we where looking to add another quality CM I'd be spending cash money on him.

I don't think we'll see CM as a position that needs strengthening in the summer though.

Rightly or wrongly.

They'll probably all be bought by Chelsea.
