2025/26 David Moyes

Like at Utd were he was laughed out of the dressing room for being utterly pathetic. Or at West Ham were the true story (despite the Conference League win masking things) was that it was 3 top half finishes and 3 bottom half finishes including a season where they conceded more goals than they ever had in their top flight history. I don't see this second spell with us going anywhere, the cracks are starting to show already in terms of recruitment and there will only ever be one winner at the end of the day and it won't be Moyes. He is his own worst enemy imo, a career that length and to not evolve it is just naïve, should have moved with the times a bit more and he might have a bit more to show for it.
DM did state he would consolidate the team & he has done that, but he did state someone else in the future would need to take the team on with our fantastic new stadia - as I reiterate it will be down to the new owners....

Can't say I'm overly impressed with them so far tbh, bringing Moyes back for one, also Kinnear is a poor appointment imo. See what happens in the coming window tbh.

People’s fixation on the set piece coach thing is dead weird. The bloke played PL and international football and has had a few coaching jobs before becoming the main man at the age of 44, its a completely mainstream career trajectory but you’d think he was some sort of laptop loving data analyst who’d never heard of football before last year the way some people go on about it.
He also took the set piece job because there was none other available on Frank's staff. He didn't come as a set piece coach.

You dont think bringing back Moyes last January when we were in a terrible rut was a good idea ?
He did a fantastic job last season - always stated that point - he worked wonders & TBH his football was far more attacking - then again it does spiral back to his summer transfer market dealings - only two big plus signings were KDH & Grealish { & we do miss him } - the rest apart from Barry - not seen much of them - but I don't think Barry will make the grade - we shall see -

HA definitely one for the future - others non existent to be seen ? - E.G George cannot play this weekend then why not let him bust a gut v Arsenal when Beto came off ?

His pace may have been far better with his lighting pace on the break - than Barry strolling around ..... We played very well v Arsenal - & could have been 2-0 up ....

Story of our season sadly .... especially at home ....

With better players Everton beat Arsenal - it was poor finishing that kept it at 0-0. The substitutions were poor as usual under Moyes but the setup was spot on with backup centre backs.

I think people underestimate just how much difference it would make having a proper centre forward regardless of the manager. Where would City be this season without Haaland?

He might have some work to do here now raising the morale of Ndiaye and Gueye.
I doubt they'll even recognise this kleptocratic nonsense from CAF. They won the match on the night. They know it, the Moroccans know it, and the world knows it. They were naughty boys, but the match was played on after their understandable petulance. Diaz bottled it - I would have some sympathy for him had he not tried to be smart and humiliate the goalie for no tangible gain - and the best team won it on the pitch.

This is simply African corruption. They'll be well used to it.

I think it'll have some effect though, not being official champions now.

I don't rate Moyes, never have, never will, but I'm happy to let the man see his contract out and just be done.

I don't know if "rate" would be the term but I do generally trust him with the task of progressing the club, even though it's often felt as slow as molasses (for various reasons, mostly money back in BK times...it's too soon to judge now IMO). Personally, I think HK got really lucky with some of his decisions in the 80's so it made it look easy like "hey, this is just what you do...piece of piss". It's clearly not, as our history after the 80's and every other clubs' various struggles over time show.

I hate to preach patience after the 💩 we've lived through but I agree, we just need to let it (Moyes' second term) play out.

I might have more sympathy for Morocco if not for the disgraceful antics of their ball boys etc. throughout the tournament which was worse than leaving the field in someways because it was premeditated.
