2025/26 David Moyes

Fans want instant over night success, our most successful periods have been built on stability and building a team.
Who has actually said this?!

What is stable about what is happening now? Our massive overreliance on a past-it Gueye? Our refusal to give Aznou minutes over Myko who is out of contract in the Summer? Our alienation of an expensive young signing in favour of playing a central midfielder out wide?

Moyes is doing nothing here to suggest he's building for the future. Assuming he goes in the Summer we will have a manager tasked at integrating players signed last Summer into the team, which could be happening right now while we have absolutely nothing of note to play for. Moyes, however, would much rather collect his head pats from his peers and pundits about how hard to beat we are.

He's overseen a necessary period of transition. He needs to make way in the Summer for someone who is *actually* going to help us build for the future.

Lots of question marks there

A good manager is the most important thing in any club. Managers can transform clubs more than players. Its the same argument that the Dyche apologists used saying no manager could do better because of the players yet Moyes debunked that theory straight away
Even if that is true, then at least have a manager who gives us a little enthusiasm and takes a chance our two. Moyes is sucking the life out of us in what should be an optimistic year.

Wasn’t Gueye player of the season last year? Most teams rely on their better players.

Players at his age can suddenly drop off a cliff and be done as we saw with Distin and Young among many others. Just because he was our best player last season doesn’t mean anything, it’s not last season and he’s had another 40 odd games in his legs since then. The fact is that nobody else in the league is still playing a 36 going on 37 year old as a starter in their teams, and there’s a reason for that.
