New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Actually, wasn't that difficult to find....

"You're not actually saying anything! Amounts to "Acts that haven't announced a tour wouldn't do a one off date, but maybe they just haven't announced they're touring yet" You don't know Oasis are the exception until/unless anyone else announces something. Kendrick Lamar and SZA announced a stadium tour in February this year that took place in the summer. BLACKPINK announced their summer dates this year in February also. Post Malone announced in February for August shows. Major acts have plenty of time to announce dates!"

The majority of them shows will have been in London only.

Villa have as of yet have not announced any concerts and neither have us. Still think it's very late in the day for us to announce any concerts for this summer.

These were full European tours announced in February, though i'm not quite sure what your point was going to be if they had been London shows only, why would that be an acceptable anomaly to announce later but Liverpool wouldn't be?? So it's evidently not "very late in the day" for announcements.....I don't know what else to say to you!

We do rugby, we dont do music. That's the way it looks.

The transport issue is wrecking us on that source of revenue.

The robust, determined sports fan will get there by hook or by crook; the fey music fan who follow today's 'superstars' wont.

London is the metropolis of our country, that has always taken the bulk of concerts due to that.

The acts you mentioned above, Post Malone and Blackpink these stadium concerts were held in????

It was always going to be a tough sell for this summer as it's a new stadium and the majority of stadium concerts for 2026 would have started discussions in early 2025 or even earlier. Would be a tough sell in this country after the Co-op Arena with no proof of concept.

Geographical speaking we are in a tough market with Anfield and Etihad so close by and having proven experience of delivering concerts.

It's our first year of trying this, we might have pitched our prices a tad high.

Look, the majority of stadiums who have summer concerts had them booked months ago. Springsteen and the Foo Fighters announced months ago at Snake Mountain. Take that announcement was September last year for it's stadium tour. Bon Jovi was October.

As I said, I think it's late in the day for us.

I cant remember that ever being on the prospectus for this stadium. IIRC it was all baked into the benefits of the new stadium that we 'inevitably' attract away from Anfield the sort of gigs they've been securing and the club gets that on a regular basis from the get-go.

Like a lot of things with this new stadium - as good as it is, the reality isn't living up to the promises.

It will take time, the litmus test will be seeing what we get for the summer of 2027 for the whole stadium concerts.

The Plaza concerts will have a different market and we can look to do a bigger offering than the on the waterfront concerts.

Genuine question. But is there much in it once you factor in we have a larger pitch (therefore a higher standing capacity for concerts) and they also have the stage in front of the Anfield Road stand which has a higher capacity (approx 6k more) than our north stand? Assuming we'd put the stage in front of that stand.

This means at theirs they have the kop in use for punters which has a capacity around 11k, compared to our 13k South.

Both stadiums should hold roughly a similar amount of people.

I think that's fair. Stadium concerts are usually programmed a year to 18 months in advance unless it's a younger artist who suddenly shoots to prominence and they're looking to cash in. We may well have concerts pencilled in for 2027, we shall see. The venue may have transport issues but so does the Sunderland Stadium of Light and they've had plenty of gigs.

The Plaza concerts would be excellent in the summer. Could get loads of decent bands who wouldn't fill a stadium.

Will have transport issues at every major venue, Murrayfield is a nightmare to get away from.

They are making modifications to the facilities in the summer so I'd imagine we've decided to not pencil any gigs in this year.

That's for the outside Plaza to hold concerts but what about the main stadium. License to hold them was sorted last summer but we don't have any bookings as of yet.
So that's a completely different thing.

The Merkin in his previous post was talking about us being held up by local objection.

Which is fundamentally incorrect.

Bookings will come so people need to stop getting bent out of shape because Taylor Swift isn't shaking her tushy round HD.
