2025/26 Adam Aznou

Below zero if 0-0? When is the ideal time to bring a sub on then?

Moyes should have been giving Aznou minutes off the bench in games in which we've been a goal down or chasing a winner. Mykolenko is okay defensively, but he offers very little to the team when we need a goal / are trying to break teams down.

I'm hoping after being forced to sub him on at left wing in the cup, Moyes seen that he's got a lot of pace, drive, desire and can get a ball into the box.

There's no way he'd play at left wing ahead of Grealish, Ndiaye or even McNeil. But he can do things that Mykolenko can't. If it's still level on 70+ mins when we play Leeds next week, I'd like to see Moyes being proactive in getting Aznou on for Mykolenklo to force the issue. As good as Grealish is, I also think he is held back on our left wing by not having a left-back with good attacking instincts getting beyond him.

So your idea is to ignore all circumstances just so that Aznou can play?
Logical fallacy

Your OP was that there was zero chance for him to come on when leading, when would be a good time since clearly he has been DNP in all league matches this season - irrespective of score

So, for final time, when could a player like Aznou be a sub in a Moyes team? When it the chance more than zero? Does it involve airborne porcine?

I don't know, I'm not Moyes. You would need to ask him. My OP was saying that there's no way that he's coming on at 1-0, nor should he. It was specific to that circumstance.

I'm pointing out if leading in a close match should have zero chance of bringing on a sub, when is a good time because Moyes isn't doing it when trailing by a goal either...unless it's not a league match
Quite an important qualification mate, because otherwise you'd have to admit that he did exactly this in the last game we played.

Me either tbf. But he might go from 'zero' to 'some' opportunities
Agreed - Grealish's injury will (hopefully) be Aznou's path to getting more minutes between now and the end of the season. I'm not expecting him to start, but I could see a Coleman-esque path to minutes now as Moyes plays a young fullback that he doesn't trust to play full back yet as a winger

Doubt we'll see him start any games and I'd be amazed to see him get any minutes as a full back (and I don't disagree with the logic here)

My one silver lining thing with the Grealish injury is I can understand if it shifts the club to full 'build for next year mode' as pushing for Europe without him is now just seen as too much of a long shot. And so we start to try and properly develop the youth players a bit.
