2025/26 David Moyes

Fair enough. But the pro anti thing is an internet phenomenon I would say. You don't have to be either pro or anti anything, just be yourself and have an opinion. A lot of people who come on websites seem to want an argument, so invent "pro" and "anti" camps that wouldn't exist on the walk to Goodison, just people with opinions.

Apart from this Forum, I've never touched "Social Media" if you know what you're going to get, keep away from it.

This place, you quickly work out the Whose who in the extremes of "Pro" and "Anti"
Most of it boils down to a very small minority that ends up sucking in other posters, posters that you can genuinely pop in to another thread where you are totally onboard with each other's opinions.

You have to work out a way of not letting it get to you at times.
But if you ever do find that way, than please give me the solution..

This forum THRIVES on polarised opinions and Warrington factions setting out their stall.

It was so BORING when everyone hated Allardyce.

The Dychettes vs the Moyettes is the only thing that keeps me paying my forum subs. Honest.

DOWN WITH DYCHE! MOYES 4EVA!

I'm anti both of them.

Everyone will turn on Moyes again soon enough.

Watch the fallout from any early FA cup exit:

If he's got anything like a grip on the reality of how supporters at this club think (which I doubt given his 100% backing of Kenwright down the years) then he'll have read the room after that exit at the hands of Wolves and he'll be putting every available first team starter on the pitch and winning against Sunderland. Losing that game is not an option.
Wait a minute! I thought you said he lied about the fringe players and they are good enough.

Which is it? Are they good enough or not?

Doesn't matter what answer you give as either is going to make you look silly once again.

No, I said we had the numbers to put out on the pitch and they were all bought at great expense.

Does that sound to you like I'd prefer Grealish to be replaced by McNeill, which is what the ginger dud in the calamitous LC game against Wolves?

You’d have to be thick as muck to want Moyes gone after the last few years some fans are never happy and need something to moan about seriously!

The worst thing is I’m not surprised at all!

Someone would need to be "thick as muck" to be so closed minded to not keep their options open in case a better manager became available or Moyes did not perform in the second half of the season.

Dont you think?

If Moyes did not perform? Sure let's look at options. But I am troubled by the first option. Better? How better? Better at what? Theories? philosophy of Football? Everton way (I have no freakin' idea)? Someone who has been uprooting teams left, right center in Hungarian second league? I am not sure what you mean by better?

And if they are better, why would they become available? Sacked? (Would that be better?) or ran down cotract (Still that's at the end of year)

We literally had Carlo Ancelotti and he didn’t outperform Moyes with a comfortably better squad.

Was it better?

I think my point is generally to keep an open mind rather than for the other poster to say people are "thick as muck" or other posters saying others seem to be "idiots" for holding alternative views on the managerial position.

Was it better?
Absolutely not. We won the opening 6 games and it was amazing, new signings, James tearing it up, but 18 points from 18 followed by 41 from 96 was really poor and some of those home defeats were diabolical. The Fulham one stood out. Saturday night game and some kid who I only knew from “Sunderland ‘til I die” bagging a brace. Garbage, when acknowledging Carlo’s reputation and the squad we had.

Fair enough!! My point is the same but with a clear quantifiable decision-making process and not because of "feels" and "guts". Becase, it's not "beautiful football". My sense of beautiful is looking at the Points table. At least for the next couple of years. Then, we can talk of aesthetics.
