January Transfer Window 2026

We are well stacked in centre mid:

Gueye
Garner
Iroegbunam
Röhl
Alcaraz
Dewsbury-Hall

Plus we’ll have Armstrong coming back in the summer.

There’s no way we could justify spending money on Gallagher when we have massive issues at RB, LB and up top.

I think KDH, Garner and Iroegbunam are the only 3 that could be condidered for next season based upon the eye test and manager.

Gana last legs
Alcaraz manager doesnt like
Rohl injury prone

Everton having some money to spend worries me as so far out of all the 9 signings we made in the summer only KDH can come out with some credit, the rest is just wasted money.

The decent players we have missing at present Ndiaye Gana Branthwaite all were not signed by the current clowns 🙄

Aznou & Dibling ones for the future
KDH should be an 8

Have to say the big disappointment for me has been signing Travers £4mil & Rohl £17.5mil.

Just chucking away £21.5mil because we had £200mil to spend? No logic to it at all.

Just really annoys me.

Can't wait to see the new right back and striker we unveil next week — definitely straight into the starting XI. The club has known about the issue and its urgency for months years already (literally), and with money available it's a certainty that at least two new players will be revealed as soon as the transfer window opens.

So excited, we can finally push for Europe, especially since we're somehow reasonably placed in the league and a player capable of slotting half of the open goals that those two clowns miss we have at present should easily fire us up the table.

That said, if these two positions aren't suitably filled then it's clear the club isn't interested in a push for Europe any time soon.

Would you choose

A: 2 29 year old full backs and a 30 year old centre forward

Experience may get europe this season

OR

B: 3 u21 high potential young players like Dibling for those positions

Could get europe in following seasons

Seen links to Brazilian RB Vitinho, he has played in the english football before with Burnley 23/24, he is now at Botofogo in Brazil but wants to return to the premier league, could be a good option for us, certainly an attacking RB and he has that all important “premier league experience” which the manager likes.

If Moyes remains in charge option 2 is pointless.

BTW it doesn't have to be either or.

I think it could be argued that Option 1, if indeed it did get us into Europe, would make option 2 much easier going forwards? Most young European players wont ever have heard of us, so getting into Europe with a few arl arses, raises our profile and means we wouldn’t have to shoehorn any young prospects into the team due to us having no other option?

Option A deffo. Would give us 2-3 seasons to cement a top 7 position and if we did get into Europe we'd have more money to suitably replace them before their legs go.

This is exactly why I am expecting a midfielder to join in January whilst continuing with obrien at rb for the rest of the season...the everton way!

Get him in so we can rid of Patterson

option 2 is not viable full stop and tbh is just fantasy land stuff. Even Chelsea who have by far the youngest squad, the average age of it is 24. You can't fill a squad in this league full of under 21 level players like Zat wants too. It's ok have one or two but Id be looking at players in more the 21-24 bracket myself, players who will have likely had a couple of years playing at a decent level somewhere rather than youngsters who may have just had one season and not much else.

Fair enough, theres no right or wrong answer.

Just poses an interesting question really with us being the oldest team in the league most games.

I’d say sign a couple of 29/30 year olds and a 25+ year old, hopefully creep into Europe and then you can afford your 45m on your Diblings and phase them into a functioning team.

Imagine how much better we’d look with Robinson and Tete as full backs for example.

It would actually let Dibling himself acclimatise quicker as well as he’d have an overlap.

More u21s are pointless until the team is functional in every spot.

Would you still not have Wesley or Kayode at RB? The 2 available last January who i wanted.

Wesley actually turned down by Moyes.

They look pretty good now.

Robinson & Tete would be by nightmare signings.

29 & 30 years old at the beginning of next season with fees & wages across 3 or 4 year deals.

Stuck with 2 depreciating 'liabilities' (not assets) preventing spending in other areas who would be appreciating assets.

Then when you look across the players in the favoured team by Moyes they are the oldest in the league. We shouldnt add to it.

I think this is ultra short termism which i wouldnt favour.

Correct. Before making a signing we should ask ourselves ‘would Brighton do this transfer’ and if the answer is no. Move on
