January Transfer Window 2026

But there would be no pressure to overlap as this XI wouldn’t have wingers. There would also be no space to ‘invert’ either. A blessing maybe?

When we are defending, he could part of a back 5. When we are attacking, he could be part of a back 5. Stick to his strengths.
That would leave us with absolutely no width in the opponent’s half, so they could just stay compact in the middle and we’d have no realistic way of playing around them

Wouldnt be Xmas without an argument about how wing backs work....

A good reference point !

I wonder if we will put a bid in for Nicolas Jackson at the end of the season? Bombed a bit at Bayern, but at Villareal and Chelsea, he was a 1 in 3 striker. Even at Bayern, he is 1 in 4 (he has the same ration for Senegal) and is familiar with Gana Gueye and Ndiaye so would hopefully feel at home?

I have no idea what they would be asking for him, or even if he would consider us, so in retrospect, I withdraw this post entirely, nothing to see here, move along now!

Think his loan deal (which cost them around 14m) has an obligation to buy for 56m (pending x amount of targets met).

So looks to me they'd want a hefty transfer fee. Not sure what wages he's on. I think it was 100k when he signed for Chelsea but I just assume little ferrets which signs for them is on about 250k pw

Signed an eight year contract at chelsea for £32m in 2023.

Can't see it. 1 in 4 at Bayern isn't great and missed chance after chance at Chelsea but the main reason is that the deal would just cost too much.

I wonder however if we might take a chance on the guy that subbed on for him yesterday Cherif N'dayie. Looks an absolute massive unit at CF but moves well. Only ever knocked around lesser leagues like Turkey and currently scoring quite well in Serbia. Wouldn't cost a bomb you'd imagine as his present club only paid £4m for him.

If he can’t get in ahead of those players then he should not even be thinking of going to the World Cup
He's good enough to get in ahead of them, but he'd be looking at securing a position in an area of the pitch where Moyes sees Gueye as undroppable and the position further up the pitch that KDH has been allowed by Moyes would be unavailable too.

The competition in our midfield is ok...more than ok in comparison with the FB situation and the CF situation...it's just that Moyes is a duffer and cant see that KDH should be played deeper.

KDH in a deeper role + Gallagher operating behind the strikers would be a dream.
