2025/26 David Moyes

I would actually rather qualify for the Champions League than win a cup. The reason is it brings in massive revenue which gives the team a platform to build and achieve further success.

It would be a much bigger deal than winning the League Cup. The FA Cup is special, so that would be a harder decision.

Ultimately though, I think you get more benefits from Champions League qualification than winning a cup. It raises the club’s profile on an international level, and that is more important than ever in the modern game.

If we're not here to see our team win a trophy What's the point?

You want us to make up the numbers to fill the pockets of millionaire players and billionaire owners?

It’s sport. You watch as it’s entertaining and competitive. Winning trophies is just the garnish as it is the journey itself that matters the most.

Taking on Bayern Munich or Real Madrid would be the memory of a lifetime.

That’s also find it strange that some people aren’t enjoying seeing how much more competitive we are this season. It’s genuine green shoots of recovery.

This is just a foolish argument. Moyes is an expert squad builder and a highly respected coach. Which manager is going to “attract better players?” Playing for Moyes attracted Grealish, so you have a very high bar.
Ah yes, anything that the PTSD Moyes Comfy Cardigan Brigade find uncomfortable is "foolish". Moyes failed miserably to attract the players he actually wanted in the summer. Why is that? It's not merely the old "Everton have been crap for too long" argument - which comfortably forgets that Moyes has been our manager for almost precisely half of the 30 years we have been trophyless. It's that David Moyes is a certain type of manager: one with little to no reputation outside this country and who is best known for being a disastrous Manchester United manager.

It's only a few years since Carlo Ancelotti managed this club. Proof positive that higher tier managers than Moyes are gettable - unlike many of the players he batted his eyelashes at this summer. Grealish - in demand nowhere else - is the exception that proves the rule.

And yes, I do have a very high bar. Mediocrity Moyes doesn't cut it.

It has yet to be demonstrated that Moyes with money is better than Moyes without money. Apart from Bowen & Yak his striker purchases have been poor & his propensity for older experienced players is not a blueprint for success in our previous or current situation.
He had money at Man United and ended up being outmanaged by Ole Gunner Solskjaer. Van Gaal, Mourinho, and Ten Hag all won trophies there. The Moyesiah won the Charity Shield.

I wouldn't give him another bob after last summer's debacle.

It depends on the intention for next season. If we thinking of getting a new project off the ground with a younger upcoming manager, then 100% shouldn't have any say on any transfers. With moyes we will not win anything, but at the same time I dont think we would go down...just a safe pair of hands for now and I believe thats what TFG were after when they appointed him. Somebody like iraola would be fantastic...has done amazing with not huge sums of money.

Would that be the same Iraola languishing in 14th place? The latest flavour of the month, a bit like Thomas Frank.

Expert squad builder feels like a real stretch looking at West Ham's recruitment while he was there and its impact on their predicament now.

He didn’t build the current squad though. Moyes wanted McTominay and Maguire and they got him JWP, Alvarez and Mavropanos.

Their current squad is a Frankenstein’s monster of a few Moyes stalwarts along with Steidten, Sullivan, Potter and Lopetegui picks.

Only 2
Points behind us and the lost 3 of thier back 4 in the summer. Summer before lost their number 9 and went on finish 9th. It’s also how they play and the end of the day Bournemouth is a very small club. How
Many times will the finish higher than 9th in the next 30yrs?
