2025/26 Vitalii Mykolenko

Not particularly a Moyes fan but trust his judgement on a player. If he was ready he’d be playing.
He is to be fair about as conservative as any top flight manager can possibly be about trusting young or inexperienced players. It's a spectrum. Can almost guarantee someone like e.g. Iraola would have given significant minutes to Dibling and Aznou this season.

I'm not saying it's *wrong* per se because maybe what Moyes wants his players to do demands that. But it's probably as much the manager as it is the player.

When KDH and Grealish are fit and firing ahead of him, it covers some of his on the ball inadequacy. Kids through elite club side academies learn ball skills, passing, position, and combination attack/defence much much earlier. Kids that went through the gymnasium on the rings, floor and parallel bars are great if they cut it at the Olympics. Stick a gymnast on the football pitch and they stand out a mile. Decent athlete, ok surviving on his wits in defence. But if we make top 10 this year in the league, he will be by far the weakest LB in that group. If Fulham are in transition and we could manage a fee, old boy Antonee Robinson would give us a few season with LB covered. Who was it that flogged him?

Sorry but he isn't, the stats don't even say he is. He's average defensively and woeful in attack. How he's still first choice after 4 years is beyond me.
I don’t know about stats, I’m not even sure what stats could say this, but we’ve seen him do great defensive jobs on top wingers like Saka and Salah before

Of course he’s not good enough but I don’t agree he’s not been good defensively whilst we’ve been fighting relegation
