Yes running behind the defender and not heading to the front post is a schoolboy error…never a striker hes 23?!My biggest issue with him is his positioning. He constantly takes himself out of scoring opportunities. He always runs behind the defender to the back, away from the ball. This puts a defender now between him and any potential goal, and means it has to get through EVERYBODY before he can get a tap in. It doesnt matter if the ball is close, and theres no one else, he just vacates the dangerous space and moves to make it easier for the defenders.
The missed cross was a perfect example of this. Hes right there, and instead of crashing near post, he goes all the way back round leaving only one option for the cross, and if anyone touches it(which happens every single time) it ends up as nothing. No matter his talent or ability level, his constantly being in poor positioning will mean he wont score very many.
This is so 1000% true it should be translated into Latin and used as the club's motto. He’s going to be like another dcl, come in look like bambi on ice for a couple of years then hopefully develops into a bog average striker that barely scores but we’ll keep around because we’re convinced that we can’t do better
Sad to say but DCL is leagues above this guy and that says it all. He’s going to be like another dcl, come in look like bambi on ice for a couple of years then hopefully develops into a bog average striker that barely scores but we’ll keep around because we’re convinced that we can’t do better
0 football intelligence, this is the only indicator anyone needs. My biggest issue with him is his positioning. He constantly takes himself out of scoring opportunities. Anyone who has a goal scorer isn't selling them by choice in January. Not a chance we'll be getting 2 of them. Sad reality is he'll be staying put and surely starting every week no matter what.We need 2.
Sanchez definitely deflected the ball away.so was it a glaring miss or was it deflected out of his reach?
I think it was deflected. I’m almost sure that’s what the commentator said.so was it a glaring miss or was it deflected out of his reach?
Having money to spend is only half of it...if Moyes had anything to do with the summer's transfers...striker that can't score, lb who apparently is worse than Miky, new contract to a very old and fragile Seamus, $40mil on a kid we only let play 10 mins at a time and a German who looks like he is always "kaput"...so yeah, having money to spend with this group is not as straightforward as you'd think.Underwhelming once again with another big miss to boot. We're all cheering him on to deliver but I expect Moyes will be pushing for funds for a striker come January.
