Why does Gana have to come straight back in? We’ve won two on the spin without him.
An excellent question. An ageing player, with a tournament to save his legs for, who slapped a teammate last time out walks straight back into the team, at the (positional) expense of comfortably our best player over the last few games.

This is the infuriating side of Moyes.

Dont think KDH and Gana make a good central pair, they both miss the discipline that Garner, Iroegbunam or even Rohl would offer. I would have advocated for Gana on the bench and kept Alcaraz in the 10, at least until he tires, bring Gana or Iroegbunam on to protect a lead. Maybe moyes thinks its best to save Alcaraz for later in the game when they tire and we are chasing the game cos we are 2 down.
It will be Garner alongside Gana with Kdh given more license to get forward.
Alcaraz has done OK. But he also hasn't been brilliant.
Gana goes after today. Always felt he would start away to chelsea

This is the phrase Harrison Armstrong used about his manager at Preston, at no time has Moyes or KDH said this unless you can direct me to it please?
The irony is, a player that effects the game all over is the very definition of a central midfielder, not a number 10.

A number 10 has a very clear role - create chances, support the striker. If your number 10 is too busy doing everything else all over the pitch, then he may not be in a position to support the striker when needed. There’s a reason Barry looked a lot more isolated when KDH played further up vs when Charly plays there. KDH is good enough where he can produce the same things deeper in the pitch as he did further up - but had another player dedicated to staying closer to the striker to help the entire team and not just his own performances

I want KDH to play a blinder today, but this NOT his preferred position or long term role in the team, it just can’t be.
