2025/26 David Moyes

Did some digging and found out that in the last 10 seasons, of any teams in the top 6 with 24 points or more after 15 games played, pretty much every single one of them went on to qualify for Europe. In fact, no one at all in the top 6 after matchweek 15 has finished outside the top 8. Food for thought
Afraid not mate - after matchday 15 on 26/12/2020 we sat in 2nd on 29 pts, but went on to finish 10th

That's manageria hara-kiri.

Moyes is keeping skeptics like me very happy at the moment. He's getting results with the bare bones. The terror for people like me is when he has options he gets less than the sum of their parts out of them. And that is an indictment, because it means clubs are wasting money giving this fella big money to play with.

The KDH positional decision is the one that will set the tone. Gueye left his team-mates down at United. He needs to see he doesn't walk straight back into this side - he hasn't been missed. And he certainly doesn't come back in by moving KDH back up the pitch. If Moyes does that, well, all of the doubts will crystalise.

For now, though, he's been great with few options. Classic Moyes. It's why I never understood why United - of all clubs - thought he was the right fit for them.

moyes knows what he’s doing mate

long may it continue and once we have
better options we will get better to

He really does get the best out of a squad when it's down to it's bare bones. His issues seem to be when he has options.

I really hope he doesn't look at moving KDH in a more advanced role, he's been absolutely fantastic driving forward with the ball from a deeper position and still finding those spaces for opportunities to score.

I've got a feeling Gueye will be straight back in against Chelsea and Alcaraz dropped in favour of KDH in that advanced position.
Charly is the stumbling block in all of this.

I just don't think he is a starter In Moyes head.

Can only hope he goes with what's been laid out in front of him now.

It was said when he was here first time round if he had just had the backing he could have taken us further. He moved to Man Ure, had the players & the backing.

His ceiling is what it is, he is great for where we are & is doing a very decent job but he isn’t the elite manager for the elite stadium.

The elite manager can probably wait until we’ve assembled a proper first team squad tbh.

….hardly a stumbling block, Alcaraz is what he is. I like him, I’m sure most of us do but Moyes is using him when he feels he needs him.

Of course, posters will pick different permutations of team but our league position tells us Moyes generally gets it right.

Stumbling block in the sense of KDH being moved back forward.

Moyes not deeming Charly as a starter will be a stumbling block for KDH to be an #8

….again, some fans preference for KDH to play deeper but it’s not something I’m in the least bothered about, certainly not a stumbling block.

I get Moyes wants his most creative talents in top third, KDH is certainly that and links particularly well with Grealish. He makes terrific runs behind the opposition back four and is also a goal threat. Just don’t get the view that KDH is ‘far better playing deeper’, he’s very effective regardless of where he plays.

Actually think if Rohl is as good as suggested, he could be Gueye’s replacement. Even if KDH plays further up the pitch, you know he’ll still put in a shift and get behind the ball when the opposition have possession. KDH is our best no10, Alcaraz and McNeil can support when needed.

We're hopefully getting away from having to run around chasing the ball, getting it and then promptly giving it away. There should be no room in that midfield for Gana once a proper right back is bought.

I'm in the deeper camp, but thats a good argument well made.

At the moment Rohl is just a fantasy, who's ceiling has got higher and higher cos of a magical name.

I watched the u21's tournament and yet when we signed him, i didnt even know who he was.

Hopefully he does prove quality, but the lad has been built up without anything to show that.

I like how you seem to disregard the possibility that our Davey has not learned anything from the 12 year journey he has been on since crashing out after delivering fair results (today's managers at utd are literally doing worse than him), following after the world's best manager, for the world's dumbest and most impatient fanbase.

Moyes is a much much better manager today than he was when he left us. It definetly shows. Especially with man management and media handling stuff. Tactically very able. Who could we get that would be an improvement upon him right now?
