Just what are we getting out of our relationship with the Hill Dickinson company?

You know what, that claim that Everton get £10M per annum for the naming rights deal will be put through the wringer in the coming months as Spurs sort out their deal.

When they finally get about £12M per annum their supporters will be saying "WTF! Everton got just two million less for their stadium"...then their owners will inform the likes of Martin Samuels to tell Spurs fans that Everton's deal is nowhere near £10M p.a.

It's going to be entertaining.
You could look at it in a different aspect.

Hill Dickinson - paid off the remaining contract of Mr Dyche.

Arsenal fans fought back to produce Arsenalification with the turn of the clock and for example and certain other changes; City fns the same.

It's inevitable there'll be pushback against the anonymous presence of Everton at this 'facility'.
Neither in the first 4 months. Like I said, watch the area over 10 years but more likely, watch the immediate environs over the next 18-24 months.
6 months ago, the council still didn’t believe it was getting built… we’ve taken giant strides in a short space of time 💙

It's not so much the presence of Hill Dickinson branding that bothers me as much as the lack of Everton.

I want our name emblazoned on the stadium and I want Everton based lettering on the seats at a minimum.

Not much to ask surely.
Exactly. In this day and age you cant avoid the corporate vampires getting their mitts on some dimension of a new stadium's projection, but to allow them free rein on that stadium...owned by Everton FC by the way...is prostrating ourselves to big business like serfs.

It needs sorting, as it's unacceptable right now.

I don’t think you can underestimate or quantify the ‘soft publicity’ gained when Mssrs Anthony Hill and Richard Dickinson are mentioning the stadium they have in Liverpool as they go about their global growth.

There will be senior hospital administrators and Chief Execs in Singapore and Hong Kong who otherwise would never of heard of Everton

We (Everton FC) have built a magnificent new stadium on the Liverpool waterfront, with stunning views of one of the most iconic buildings in the nation - the Royal Liver Building. It cost us in the region of £800million to build. It is a privilege to view it from the road, let alone see Everton win there in front of 50,000 singing Blues. There have been some teething problems and debate has raged over the capacity, but ultimately it is a truly world-class stadium. Handsome, too, what with the brickwork that is in keeping with the surrounding historical buildings. I also love that the Grade II listed perimeter wall has been restored. This stadium has the opportunity to put us as a club back on the map, particularly when we host the Euros in just over 2 years' time.

However, when my son's clients from overseas come to visit Liverpool and see our magnificent new home from outside, all they see are the words Hill Dickinson. We paid £800million to build it, so how much are they paying us to essentially take ownership of the branding of our new home? I think the word Everton only features in tiny letters on the small Everton crests. These can hardly be seen from the road or the river, but the words Hill Dickinson can be. I've heard that they only pay us around £10million per annum, but that can't be correct?

I make this post not to cause mischief, but to ask a genuine question. If they are literally paying for the stadium over the course of a decade, then fair enough. But £10million seems like relative pocket change.

My apology for joining this conversation late, but also

We're not getting £10M per year.

Nowhere near it.

It's circa £3M and at best going up to £6M depending on PL position or a cup win.

We get that out of it and in return we lose our identity so that they can get global recognition at our expense by choosing to place their name to the fore and deny Everton the right to locate its stadium against the backdrop of the world famous Liverpool skyline.

It's one of the most shocking muggings in corporate deals in PL history.

We were promised world class stadium in world class surroundings; we got world class stadium backgrounded by an utter dump.

And you too,

I don't know what their turnover is but at the game in Saturday me and my mate ( we are both former partners in one of the largest firms of Solicitors in Liverpool) were musing on what return HD get from the deal.

Hill Dickinson are a huge firm with offices in many countries. I couldn't hesitate to guess at their turnover but it will be very , very substantial.

I suspect that part of the deal is that they get all Everton's legal work the cost of which is offset against the sponsorship deal .

Perhaps an accountant could confirm that a chunk of the sponsorship money can be written off to tax?

I can't imagine people like the Friedkins agreeing to a deal like this unless they already work with HD. They've got too much going on to switch legal for what is relatively a few quid to them.

"Speaking about Everton’s Hill Dickinson deal, Scotcher said: “When we talk about what that venue was and how we took it to market, it was [positioned as] a sports and entertainment destination where Premier League football was on the menu...We talked about it less as a football stadium, and more about a fully programmed 365 sports and entertainment destination. "

There it is.

That's what we're dealing with.

So nice to know that Everton games are still on the menu at the stadium that this club's supporters are having to pay £800M for.

What a world we live in. Football is one of the items on the menus at a football club's stadium.

These 'kin parasites need chasing out of the game.

How much did you pay Dave? I must have missed when they passed the bucket around? I can throw in a $20 but not sure what that translates to in pounds sterling.
