Just last weeks posts- have a read ffsWhen was a hero? Was it when he looked average/okay for 20 min when subbed on?
BSAt fault for two goals tonight. But that’s Moyes fault for leaving him rusty.
Onwards and upwards
Yeah, when he played for 20 min and wasn't utterly dreadful.Just last weeks posts- have a read ffs
lolTim Iroegbunam is a gem and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know how to watch football. He's a strong squad player and he's young, but he's better than many rotational players his age. We're lucky to have him and definitely got the better end of the virtual swap for Dobbin.
lolHe can save us a fortune if he keeps playing like that. Very strong and athletic and good ability to beat his man and drive forward. Positional play and discipline can improve and he can be a bit more decisive in his passing at times. He can definitely be a starter for us this season. People have written him off way to quickly because of some poor performances when he was returning from injury and the team had a disfunctional shape.
I think it's more to do with how the game is going and what he's asked to do. He started against Fulham and was fine because we were on the front foot all game, Fulham retreated into their shell and he could just run around doing whatever he wanted. His best performances as a sub have been similar, coming on against Palace for example where we were pushing to get back into the game and he's able to run round at full throttle and take risks. When he's playing against decent teams who are actually competing in the middle and looking to cause their own problems his lack of discipline and awareness becomes an issue. What gets praised as 'energy' and 'trying to make things happen' when it's going well very quickly becomes being out of position and giving the ball away when it's not. When he comes off the bench he looks good, when he starts he looks passive.
It was particularly noticeable on Saturday. He is either physically slow, mentally slow to react or simply can't be bothered. Either way he should not be playingWish he'd take them Deep Sea Divers Boots off.
