New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Could you please post a link to any of those articles? I haven't read anything official about expansion for a while.

They’re not official but all seem to suggest some sort of expansion linked to hosting euro 2028 that I’d not read anywhere before

The guide on the stadium tour yesterday said that:
1. It was the council who limited capacity to 53k because we could only prove we would sell that figure out every week. We now have 40k on season ticket waiting list.
2. We are planning to extend capacity by introducing safe standing around the bottom tier of the ground once we have the money. That’ll increase capacity to above 60k.
3. We could extend the North Stand and buying land off the water works to do so is being contemplated.
4. We can’t have white seats spelling out EFC or similar until after Euros as we have agreed to keep branding to a minimum to attract other users of stadium.

This on some kind of club media would calm alot of people down.

All sounds interesting. Not sure you can take it so literally.

Can't see the east & west stands having SS.

The lower Ss has SS it is currently 1 person standing per one seat. It would take a significant change in the ratio to take us to 60,000 or higher.

Safestanding doesn't yield any extra capacity yet. Even if legislation changes to allow increased ratios.... those areas will need to be fitted with German style rail-seating, with an intermediate step, and that will only be at a ratio of 1.3 to 1.5:1. Which is only 2-2.5 k lift for the south stand lower...... and 1-1.5 k for the away section.

If the North stand can be extended to the same height as the rest of the stadium (if that footprint or air space has been negotiated) then that could be an uplift of 3.5-4k.

The council wouldn't limit our capacity based on demand. That is not part of their remit at all. They could limit capacity based on transport/congestion, noise or any peripheral nuisance factor..... or in terms of heights of structure as regards right to light issues or obscuring listed buildings etc. If the club can show that 60 or 70k could access/disperse within regulatory minimum times.... then planning would be given.

I think he said SS was 1.5M per person rather than 2M so there’d be an increase of 25%. Who knows. Certainly not me!

2. The lower concourse feels more spacious, so maybe they had that in mind

3. They seem to have kept that strip of land they used when building it. They appear to be using it to store the pitch grow lights at the moment there

Utter disgrace.

Denial of our own existence.

Think all stadiums chosen for the Euro's will have the same stipulations Dave, why should we be any different ? It's an honour that our stadium has been chosen for these prestigious events, we were chosen over others for a reason our stadium is fabulous and it being advertised all over the World is a good thing and may well attract more sponsors. Believe me when this tournament starts and the Rugby one today, which I'm going, everyone will know it's Evertons stadium.
