New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I'm going to buy 50 premium stones that all say 'Hill Dickinson' just for you @davek
It's a shameful exploitation of people's memories and attachments.

And the way the money-grabbing gets have framed this as a chance to become part of some 'dock lines' maritime heritage is pathetic.

You can imagine the conversation they had when they were deciding how the latest exploitation would work:

"Ok, but where do we stick these other stones...it's a bit congested over by the stadium...and we dont want the riff-raff demanding access to the western wharf on non-matchdays, so we're not putting them there".

"We'll put them between the tracks over by the dock wall"

"But wont that have loads of people milling round them on match day and destroying the atmosphere of people looking to use those benches around that part of the plaza as a meeting area, which is what we'd envisioned in the original plans..."

"Probably, but it's just on match days...so..."

So that'll be it then, will it..."

"....
well...eventually we'll be able to fill the other two dock lines nearer the stadium with stones".

"But wont all this be a problem for everyone on match day moving around thousands of static people reading personalised stones..."

*shrugs*

Seen a few articles referencing plans for capacity increase now. Presumed they were referencing future safe standing but have I missed any announcements on provisions for expansion?

Would seem a bit pointless given we haven't sold it out once yet at its current capacity have we?

And i know that's because of the seat unique / tourist packages, but the business case for any further expansion would be predicated on selling more seats at that price point when obviously the demand just isn't there.

The more I think of this the more I believe our managed decline of the last 30 years has come back to bite us.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if Everton were successful and still a giant, then our name would be emblazoned in giant letters and the sponsors would only be too delighted to be associated with the Mersey Millionaires.

However, the bitter truth after decades of Kenwrightism is that the sponsors do not want to be associated with Everton Football Club, those plucky, relegation-haunted, points-deducted purveyors of knives to gunfights.

They want to be associated with a magnificent stadium.

What we are seeing now is yet another consequence of "good times."
Have you been the emirates?

From a club point though haven’t we ? I’m assuming seat unique have bought those tickets so the club can view it as a sell out can’t they ?

Unless I’m not understanding the relationship, which feels likely
