Its no doubt played a part. But the truth is that the worthless wage thieves we have for a parliament are the true reason for the increase. They don't seak for real solutions. They don't speak like real people and refuse to have real conversations because its easier for them to play it safe and ride the gravy train for as long as possible. Brexit would never have been a thing if our politicians had real conversations and addressed peoples real concerns. You can’t have the conversation without accepting Brexit has played a major role in the rise is asylum seekers in the uk. Whilst in the EU we had the Dublin agreement in place, now we are out of the EU that no longer applies to us.
Not sure Honest conversations should have restrictions placed on what relevant topics can be discussedYou can’t have the conversation without accepting Brexit has played a major role in the rise is asylum seekers in the uk. The real concerns you talk about are almost never caused by migrants, it's just "the other" is a useful scapegoat for politicians to use, as in group/out group psychology is as old as time. It doesn't matter whose causes the concerns. You aren't going to get through to anyone by dismissing their worries no matter misplaced they might be. It is the duty of our politicians to have real conversations about these things. If people's concerns are misplaced then it needs to be explained without telling them that they are stupid and/or racist for being mistaken. Most people are willing to have their minds changed if they aren't being dismissed and mocked while its happeningThe real concerns you talk about are almost never caused by migrants, it's just "the other" is a useful scapegoat for politicians to use, as in group/out group psychology is as old as time. How do you suggest we have this kind of conversation? I ask because information does tend to be out there, but perhaps not in a format or on a platform that reaches the masses, but the platforms that do reach the masses don't tend to provide reliable information. It doesn't matter whose causes the concerns. You say significant portion. Personally I see it as a pitiful minority who always get given the most coverage because the media and government don't want the people to have real conversations together. The last thing they want is us to realise is how much all have in common and they are the real problem.Tbf a very significant portion are both stupid AND racist![]()
I’m not going to reason with bigoted morons. Why should I? They need to be called out for the racist simpletons they are.It doesn't matter whose causes the concerns. That is a nice way of putting it. On another hand Flags are for people with problems who have been misdirected as to the cause of them.Flags are for wools
No, the people directing them towards being racist to avoid the difficult conversation are the criminals. Neo liberal economics has destroyed income distribution and is destroying the fabric of society. Big changes needed and we do not have the politicians with the balls to make them. We do have the politicians keen to avoid the changes however, from Farage to Reeves.I’m not going to reason with bigoted morons. Why should I? I mistrust the word "conversations". It's frequently used in America to justify vile beliefs. You say significant portion. Our politicians need to start toning down the rhetoric and lead by example. Once the likes of Fararge is the only one name-calling it will be easier to show him up for what he is. The media have an obligation to provide factual news rather then hysterical nonsense like labelling "judges enemies of the people". Even if someone is gorssly misinformed and basically an idiot, you aren't going to win him/her over by telling them. A change it tone when it comes to these conversations will go a long way.How do you suggest we have this kind of conversation?
