I work in the HSE building and ventured to the strand on my dinner. Theres shutters with the words stop the boats, but they way they have structuted it, it reads stop boats the. Made me chuckle. Dimwits.
Small world mate, I work the road over from the HSE on Balliol. For all its problems Bootle to me was always old school Socialist and full of old school Evertonians. Sadly Bootle seems to have changed of late to become more reactionary.

I think there is some pluristic ignorance regards how popular overt racism is in the UK, they are loud and a dangerous presence on the right but not a majority. The fear I have is that politicians and legislators seem to be taken in by this misrepresentation aswell.
It's the same in every country, mate. It doesn't matter how small that lot are as a minority.

They're usually the most loudest, arrogant, and pompous tits around, spewing their toxic bile wherever they go. 🙄

As depressing as the current picture is, we've got to remember a) Starmer is unlikely to be in post in a years time. The locals are will be historically bad so surviving is unlikely. b) Greens are having surge in membership and in some polls they're equal with Labour now. c) Your Party may yet prove to be a serious force. d) Farage is up to his eyes in dodgy dealings and he is essentially the only unifying thing for his party. Beyond him there's serious divisions in Reform. Fingers crossed and up the Toffees 💙

Racism feels Worse now than any time I can remember . It’s completely normalised , mainstream political parties parroting the historic rhetoric of the BNP and nobody bats an eye .

You hear the go to angry response , of admitted halfwits , To anyone they deem different is “deport them” . It’s sickening and it won’t get any better for a while , unfortunately.

Is the organiser of all this flag stuff a former EDL member , another with a new name because he was jailed over a racist attack were someone died .

I mean how anyone could claim these guys had other issues than patriotism I don’t know . Talking of other driving forces I think they’re unsurprisingly supposed to be very dubious in their accounting .

Things would never have got to this point if we had ANY politicians worth a crap who had it in them to have honest discussions about things like immigration without just lumping the person they're talking to into the same category as Fararge, Trump, Robinson and the rest of the far right. Zero nuance. Its the when they try to discreet someone on the left too. "Oh. You want all the homeless looked after and cared for?! You're obviously a Marxist!" Nowt will ever change because our mainstream politicians aren't worth a dam and are the reason that the country is in such a state to begin with. I don't blame people for looking at the alternative parties hoping for something better but they're in for a world of disappointment because those guys are either just as bad or worse.
You do realise that Brexit has caused the increased number of asylum seekers arriving by boat don’t you ?

Well the facts can’t be ignored can they
How did it relate to my point though? Maybe if we'd have honest and adult conversations from our politicians about things like immigration then Brexit would never have been a thing. Maybe that's a sign that we should try it now and learn from previous mistakes. Or yeah, just continue to do the same old crap over and over and have the same tedious arguments over and over again all to score points and get nowhere. Sounds well productive.

It related to your point as it is intrinsically linked to the rise in asylum seekers in the uk. You’re correct by the way that we need politicians of all persuasions to actually be honest and work out solutions through cross party negotiations… and that has to start with taking ownership of brexit and the massive problems it has caused.

If you want ownership and honesty then start with yourself. You weren't trying to have a discussion. You where trying to score more Internet points and have an argument for the sake of it. You saw a perfectly valid point that you somewhat agreed with, but rather than say that you decided to explain how all your problems and that of the country was all down to a referendum that took place almost a decade ago and not the endless list of usless politicians that we the taxpayers have subsidised since then.

You can’t have the conversation without accepting Brexit has played a major role in the rise is asylum seekers in the uk. Whilst in the EU we had the Dublin agreement in place, now we are out of the EU that no longer applies to us.
