Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Great photo, I’ll be there in January
Haven’t been home since my mum passed away that was 2010, I’m definitely going to see lots of changes

There are 6 of us coming back for the Leeds game,
I’ve fallen in love with the place, my only regret is it took me so long to get there in the first place. On our last trip I booked a later train home, hoping to visit a museum or two only to find they shut on Mondays🤦‍♀️ maybe next year… We did see a sailing ship though.

I highly recommend the museums Gwladys. Very easy to lose a couple of hours in each one.

That's almost as far as @Gwladysover walked in one morning on her first tour of Liverpool lol. If you are at a lose end and have time why not pop to Sefton Park and have a lovely stroll around the park and visit the Palm House and then grab a bite to eat on Lark Lane.

Have a great time anyway AT.
Didn’t make it to Sefton Park but maybe next time.

First thing I noticed since I got home is the quietness. After 4 days in the city, the peacefulness of home is very striking. Even at all hours of the night you hear traffic in Liverpool, never mind the hubbub of conversation all around you.

Thought you might like to have a look at this mate should you need a break from the back to work mundane. It's taken at the first record store show by the guy who's videos led to them being discovered. The band kindly let him use their audio of the show so the sound quality is better than the standard amateur video.

Thanks Fred! Day off today so will lie up and watch that later.

Exchange Flags- how I had never found that place before this weekend surprised me. A real hidden gem.

It is a beautiful city ,I recommend all visitors took look up when they can as the building are so fine ,Have you visited the cathederals yet ? The Anglican has hidden mice ,I am not sure how many and mice carved into the pews by Robert "the mouseman " Thompson .Both so different and so special , connected by Hope Street .

I made sure to visit both cathedrals this time and even had time for a quick sit down in the Philharmonic inbetween 😉

You don't have to go all the way to NI for that though.

A short train ride from Liverpool and it's the same in my little village

Used to work 30 yards away.

The square is very Germanic with the incredible slave statue monument in the centre. It's beautiful
I know all around there but yet never actually stood in the actual square. It’s strange my propensity to walk and explore the city each time I am over.

The statues are amazingly detailed and realistic. The cafe in the corner does a roaring trade, queues outside every time I walked past it during my stay.
