2025/26 Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

He's an 8 in a 3 man midfield with one sitting midfielder

currently he's playing 10 with the midfield being a separate 2

Disagree myself mate, i dont think hes good enough defensively, he might get you up the pitch a bit like Osman used to, but hes not a great blend with the current midfield pivot.

Can he play there, sure but he's not optimal.

We actually need presence in central midfield at the moment in my opinion and that's Rohl.

Hes better in advanced positions then in the engine room, if we had a different blend in midfield then he could play the old Osman role.

"i dont think hes good enough defensively"

- thats why Raino said with a sitting midfielder.

You are acting like we are leaving Messi sat on the bench, Alcaraz is an average South American who ended up back there not so long ago because no club in Europe rated him. Why is KDH well up there in various stat charts if he has been 'poor or anonymous' Zat, are you suggesting the people who do these things are lying?
We all agree he is not a 10 but its on Moyes not the player, also say you get your wish and he was moved on, there is no guarantee we start playing Alcaraz all of a sudden. It really is an ill thought out diatribe that you and big oil are pushing here.
He was in the awful Southampton coached by the most charlatan ever seen coach benched ever . Why? Because he is a risky player for a loser team under a loser coach.
And this is what is happening here now.

Another player who has told DM he is not a number 10 but a midfielder....

You don’t just play with a defensive midfielder and then no one else suddenly needs not to defend mate. We have two at the moment and are struggling to defend.

If we had Garner 6 and KDH + Rohl/Alcaraz then I think we'd have more defensive ability between the 3. Compared of course with Gana/Garner.

Not been great. No wonder Ireland are sniffing around.

LOL

Its clearly on Moyes.

He's overpaid for another teams unwanted player.

Then he's put him out of position from day 1 and every single game he's been poor or anonymous.

Another player signed for less than half his fee has upstaged him yet cant get in the team.

We dont use a 6 so KDH doesnt have the defensive cover he needs either.

This reminds me of the Kroldrup signing but he at least had the sense to drop him after a defeat against Villa and sell quickly.

I'd be dropping him for Alcaraz and putting the feelers out to sell KDH in January.
Just to clear things up, the top section of my post wasn't regarding any certain player, it was just summarising the way things are looked at.

My only question about KDH would be to Moyes, I like the lad and think you'd see alot more out of him in his proper role.

He shouldn't carry the hate cause of someone else sticking him in a position that doesn't suit his game.

I feel like philosophically it’s thought out enough

I know many saying hes not a 10, but a central midfielder at 8, i dont think he works there in our current blend.

To be honest i always had him pegged as an indie left - crazy how over stocked we are there.
It’s just wishful thinking so we don’t have to admit the signing was ill-conceived. Chelsea signed him because he was a solid championship attacker and used him primarily in that type of role when he played. We either bought him to do similar or bought him to do something he hadn’t done in the PL in multiple years and got relegated doing.

What does his value count for if were not looking to sell..

If a poster thinks I'm (and several others are) wrong about KDH's performances in the 10 position, then that would allude to them believing he's played well.

If they feel that way then i'd be interested to know how much they think his value will have increased from £28mil.

Well no his value certainly wouldn't have increased, but i doubt O'briens has either cos he's stuck in a position not tailored to his game.

I think everyone is in the same boat when it comes to his positioning, it just differs when some of us see a good player their..
