News of Ex Players

Best 16 years old I’ve ever seen, and I’ve always been of the view that great footballer that he was and great achievements he made but he could have been up their with Ronaldo and Messi chasing regular Ballon D’Ors. So I wonder if he’d had better discipline, less drinking, better exercise etc if he could have achieved more . Or even still be around at approaching 40 like James Milner.

All just idle musing, the memories of him coming through our Academy, those first years with us and the goals he scored will stay forever.
Personally think Messi and Ronaldo were a level above regardless of Rooneys less than professional attitude

What £10 million buys you in 2025...

Maybe the thread should be renamed
News of Ex players and staff to reflect the interest in the wider diaspora of people who have left the club for new adventures, or at least allow a little poetic licence in where the best appropriate place is to put these things ?

The mods seem to be happy enough to turn a blind eye to the occasional ex-manager related post in here.

They possibly prefer that to someone looking to drag up the Dyche thread...

The original posts were in relation to the obsession with an “ Ex Sporting Director” not ex-manager, where do you draw the line - Ex-Owner, Ex- CEO , ex-whatever?

I think generally we’re a tolerant bunch, every thread wanders off at times and we all get sucked into commenting off topic. I like this thread , people make an effort to report on Ex-players and I find it interesting. I can shrug away the occasional ex-manager post but if people want to post regularly about Dyche, Thelwell, Allardyce etc they should create a new thread somewhere and leave it free for Ex-player reports.

Fair enough, hopefully there will be an
Ex - staff (not players, no FSW) option when the need arises, Chermiti/KT will go
to the back burner now he's found the net anyways probably.

Apologies for being off topic.

Good on him.

Tony Grant, who made 94 appearances for Everton during his playing career, has turned a disused church centre on Park Road North in Birkenhead into a thriving community hub.

The A&K Community Hub now welcomes hundreds of people each week, offering activities and vital support services, including advice on fuel poverty, energy efficiency, debt, and benefits.

Mr Grant said: "In a short space of time, the A&K Community Hub has become an integral part of the community, supporting everyone from newborns to pensioners.

"We’re making a real difference on issues like loneliness, safety, and the cost of living.

"None of this would be possible without collaboration – which is why it was fantastic to welcome so many like-minded organisations from across the North West to our centre.

"We’re learning from each other and working together to grow and evolve."

The centre recently hosted a conference organised by gas distribution network Cadent, bringing together 36 charities, community centres, and businesses to address the challenges facing vulnerable people across the North West.

Many of the organisations in attendance are part of Cadent’s ‘Centres for Warmth’ network, a scheme that funds and supports community groups helping those in need.

The event included keynote sessions from leading charities such as Scope, YMCA, St John Ambulance, and Alzheimer’s Society.

The sessions encouraged groups to explore new approaches to supporting vulnerable people during the winter months.

Other Centres for Warmth from Merseyside in attendance included The Social Brokers in Kirkdale and Fazakerley Community Federation.

Phil Burrows, head of customer vulnerability and social impact at Cadent, said: "At Cadent, we’re committed to supporting our most vulnerable customers, achieved through our many partnerships, both locally and nationally.

"We’re therefore in a unique position to bring together many expert voices to share learnings and propose new solutions.

"Therefore, we hope that our local conferences help to deliver new ideas and our partners will be inspired to continue the amazing work they’re doing in supporting people living in the most vulnerable situations."

JP Gbamins exploits continue. Last year he was at Nantes then FC Zurich, who finished mid table.
Now playing for yo yo club Metz he's played 9 games this season. Seems to be being used as a centre back or on the left in a back three.
Recent results:
Lost 6-1 to Lille
4-0 to Toulouse
3-0 to Marseille
0-0 at home to fellow strugglers Le Have. They have yet to win a game.

Rough results, like, but happy for the lad that he’s getting regular footy. Must have felt at one point, at least, that it was touch and go if he’d ever play again.
