Our Wayne Rooney 40 today happy birthday

How old would he look today if he hadn't been a footballer, all that exercise and discipline.
Best 16 years old I’ve ever seen, and I’ve always been of the view that great footballer that he was and great achievements he made but he could have been up their with Ronaldo and Messi chasing regular Ballon D’Ors. So I wonder if he’d had better discipline, less drinking, better exercise etc if he could have achieved more . Or even still be around at approaching 40 like James Milner.

All just idle musing, the memories of him coming through our Academy, those first years with us and the goals he scored will stay forever.

….watched him for 10mins in a Lancashire League game at Bellefield and just knew he was such a special talent. I knew our young players but had to ask who he was. He was 15yo, I went home and sent my mate in Australia a message telling him we’ve got a superstar coming through.

He was easily the best young player I witnessed.

I like how he's been there 5 minutes but is now the symbol of what's wrong at a club that's been self-destructing for ages now.

Tbf he’s their biggest money signing in 25 years - 2nd biggest ever, and hasn’t done a thing yet, both at Rangers or his career.

Seems to be symptomatic of a club that makes strange decisions.
