2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Met him with my lad in the tunnel photo area after the West Ham game. Posed for pics as confidently as the other players and the shyness or homesickness some are quoting was immediately obvious. He may need the old arm around the shoulders - isn’t that supposed to be a moyes USP?

Wasn’t ! Typo my apols. Seemed like a regular lad. Don’t know where the online faff is coming from.

Appreciate the post and the clarification

He's had limited minutes, but in those limited minutes he hasn't looked quite ready yet. His fee is high because of his enormous potential. I'm completely fine with how he's being used right now.
yeah and I am sure Barry's performances dont overly alarm you either

That is 70m blown on nothing.

We simply arent in a position to be able to write that off.

For me its also about how we execute the way we play. Loads of teams play 4-2-3-1 and don't have isolated strikers who hardly get a touch let alone a shot in the box. You look at at someone like Kroupi at Bournemouth, he is younger than Barry and has just breezed in and is scoring and looks comfortable because their system works. Bournemouth had 3 players yesterday who were regulars from the season before, the rest were new signings or guys who were long term injured like Alex Scott. It's why I don't really follow this idea of 'settling in' its just an excuse for me.

I think it depends on the person & the work environment.

So work-wise I could see it takes players time to adapt to new systems, playing style and level of opposition.

With Dibling specifically, I think Moyes is insane.

This just about covers it..
New Everton signing Tyler Dibling says the chance to player under David Moyes, who he believes is the "perfect" manager for his development, was a key factor behind his choice to make the move from Southampton.

The 19-year-old winger has agreed terms on a four-year contract until June 2029 in a deal worth an initial £35m, plus £5m in add-ons.

"It's the perfect match because of where the club is right now," Dibling said.

"The fans here are unreal, and it has a family feel to it. It was the perfect fit and it was a no-brainer to join.

"The manager is perfect for me. He's helped so many players before who were in my position. I've spoken to him and I know he's going to be good for me.

"My aim for this season is just to play as many games as I can and to help the team as much as I can with goals and assists. As a team, hopefully we can have a good season and see where it goes."

Moyes said Dibling is a "talented young English player" with "lots of potential".

"Tyler adds to our attacking options and we will support him in his future development," he added.

"We are eager to build a team Evertonians can enjoy watching and be proud of, and Tyler can help us achieve that."

Told you his defensive work rate was poor when we signed him. He won't get into the team until Moyes thinks he runs more off the ball..
I don't think this is quite true, he was well above average for pressing last season, even after adjusting for how much defending Southampton had to do.

He probably was/is quite far behind in understanding how to effectively go about his defensive responsibilities though, given the quality of coaching etc.

He desperately needs more minutes regardless soon otherwise what's the point? A development player needs developing.
