January Transfer Window 2026

Twisting my words with your last sentence. The point I'm making is if someone isn't in jail then they should be allowed to earn a living doing what they are qualified to do. Otherwise why bother allowing them out of jail?
And he is doing his job. He just doesn’t have to do it here.

Not being charged and being innocent aren’t the same thing.

You also suggested rehabilitation. What rehabilitation has he done?

He is making a living doing what he is qualified to do. No one is stopping him from doing that through any forcible or legal means.

Point remains that anyone signing and playing him for their football club is morally bankrupt. If you run a football club you have a duty to the community that comprises and supports it. Putting a violent sexual abuser in a job where they will, by its nature, have fans and support and kids looking up to them is a dereliction of that duty, and helps normalise that sort of behaviour.

I won't respond to any other messages about this because it's a massive off topic derailment

Well i haven't taken a vested interest in Mason Greenwood's life. My argument is a societal one where a person who has committed a heinous act is judged on that act regardless of how long ago it was and whether the person has corrected the error of their ways. Do we as a society condemn them forever? If so they should be kept in prison forever and away from society. Or do we allow them to become better people and allow them their freedom? If we do then we should have no problem with Mason Greenwood being rehabilitated into the England side or being a potential Everton player going forward. Its a simple argument depending on how you view the above argument

He’s earning a fortune, put the violin away. He’s sacrificed his chance to play for England, and he’s categorically not welcome at Everton.

There is a world of difference between a reformed thug (Duncan Ferguson) and a potentially reformed sexual offender (Mason Greenwood).

In a utopian world one could argue that both deserve forgiveness and a chance at a new life. In practice, sexual offences send out different messages, especially to female supporters - and wives of supporters!

Back on topic,we do need a striker.

had someone at a party last night saying we should be looking at Mason Greenwood as a striking option in January

I said I wouldn’t want us to sign a person like that but he seemed to think things had moved on and he thought most fans wouldn’t care anymore.

Thoughts?

That would be the worst thing we could possibly do for optics and perception of the club. We don’t need to be inviting that level of external hatred and putting ourselves under the microscope right now. Let someone else carry the negative baggage and be the crisis circus club for this season.

Rewatched some of Kinnear interview and he said we are only likely to spend in Jan due injury or under performance in a certain area. So we can relax as that means we are deffo getting another striker and hopefully a right back. If we don't sign a striker then that was a barefaced lie
