January Transfer Window 2026

He was awful as an out CF last time, he would end up in people’s way, he is also suited to relegation fighting teams, which he was at Watford and Everton.
Would just feel like a massive backwards step for me, he has only scored 3 goals so far, same as Illy. Just when you add in the injuries, age, and the fact he is hardly prolific either and Spurs won't d us any favours. Also you can guarantee they will want some first refusal on NDiaye as well as part of any deal.

See loads have given up on Thierno 8 games deep in to the league or 223 PL mins to be more precise.
I don't expect anything much tbh as he wasn't that highly rated when we signed him, so if it comes off then great but if it doesn't then these things happen. We don't really play in a way that helps any striker though, I don't think it matters who is up there they will find it hard as that person is a body in Moyes's system the emphasis is more on the others behind them hence we need better FB for more support further up the pitch.

Definitely FB's but you also need some kind of direct player like alcaraz that can change the attack approach.

At the mo our forwards are just used as dogs chasing a ball.

Demoralising for a striker, especially a new one trying to find confidence.

Funnily enough, there was spurious links this morning to us signing him on loan, but I reckon these jarg sites, get a lot of their stuff from the likes of on here tbh.
Like the rumours of Coleman heading to Seville..

What is one of the things Seville is known for, and the Avatar of his biggest critic on the site..

Oh I’m not daft enough to write off the lads’ whole career.

Just his Everton one.

To be fair mate, the biggest part of our recruitment plan was to sign young players and develop them - we are at the developing stage with a lot of them.

When we invest as much as we have, we have to have a certain trust and patience in the plan and model and structure we put in place to do it. We have to trust the investments in payers will eventually come off - Barry, Rohl, Aznou and Dibling.

If I'm honest, i really like what ive seen from Barry, he's adjusting, but he has unique blend of raw qualities you dont see in a lot of strikers - i can see why we signed him - even if it hasn't come off for him as yet.

Bit of sense in that mate - a question ive always quietly asked myself is how many goals can we expect from a forward playing for Everton as a 1 up top as essentially thats what it is, as opposed to wide forwards you see elsewhere supporting a 9.

Id suggest 10 if we're lucky, unless you get really lucky and find a Lukaku - who was just a beast and bult in a shed by the A-Team for that role.

We've been wedded to a 4-2-3-1 for going on 20 years now anyway, bar the odd nuance - its a tough gig for anyone being the no 9 here in that context.

Very much this, every now and then you get that 'one' that can just hit the net from anywhere around the box and you can count on them racking the goals up. I do think it's a shame we didn't get Delap in a sense he is more suited to Moyesball than either of the current two are imo.
