Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone ,

Not been posting much as mum situation is a bit fraught. Current carers are hopeless - well actually the multitude of young ladies that turn up aren't but they have 19 clients in a day so they are never on time , never spend the requisite time with mum and all of it is rushed. It's not their fault it's their gobshite employer who according to my rudimentary calculations is making about £300k from each carer that they employ. Virtually all ( except 2 ) of the 15 different carers we have seen are foreign nationals. Absolutely nothing wrong in that , they are very caring when here but very difficult for a 98 year old deaf lady to understand them.

So, we are changing providers but getting the LA to give us the budget to administer is so beaurocratic and difficult. Anyway I finally managed to get an agreement and have found a 60 year old lady in the next village able to help. Getting all the paperwork is a nightmare.

Garden visit from Fred today and if he makes it - you know what happened last time - a bit of wine will be consumed. However Fred has to get back to town for a concert with some girl band or other so I expect him to be on edge and nervous !

Have a lovely day everyone.

Hopefully the new lady and your Mum bond quickly, it would be a real relief for you.

Happy first day as a married man! How did the big day go?
It was fantastic mate thank you 😊

Perfect setting, just a few guests.

We all then went into Ayia napa town and smashed karaoke for the night. A beautiful day all round.

We’ve got to go and get our certificates stamped shortly and that’s everything completed.

A couple more days of sunshine before we fly back Saturday.

This was my view from the table at the reception dinner 😊

Well I wasn't until you mentioned it. Cheers mate.

Sorry about your mum's caring situation mate. It's criminal that those dedicated and .massively overworked angels have to get by on minimum wage.

I had a large wee dram while watching the footie last night , but it was a quiet day as most of the time was taken by a funeral we attended.
Happy belated birthday mate. Shame it was hijacked by such tragic circumstances but you can't control these things and just have to go with the flow. Put a bit extra into Mrs BLs next birthday celebrations instead.💙

Sad day today folks. We've just started letting Nacho out following our holidays. He's been OK, coming in for food but mostly wanting to stay outside. Today he got run over and killed. We got a phone call from.a local vet. Somebody had seen it happens, picked him up and took him to the vet. Im so sad, I feel like I've really let him down.
Oh that's so sad Anj. But don't beat yourself up over it. Cats are so independent and will do what they want to do. You can't keep them locked up which, realistically, is the only way you could have prevented this.
