2025/26 David Moyes

Was saying last night that Jags, Baines and Arteta all didnt come into the team quickly after they signed or initially started that well - maybe a reference point in manging this transition.
I'm probably overthinking it but it bothers me in a way that a usual forum disagreement doesn't (who cares). Because it affects the wider impatience of the fanbase and how much time/support we give these young players who will take a bit to settle.

It drives me crazy how many people don't understand this. People in the transfer thread advocating breaking the bank for Ivan Toney...that's how we end up continuing to spin our wheels forever.

It's too early to say this *will* happen, but I'm concerned if Moyes doesn't start trusting the new young players by at least mid-season then we'll a) miss out on a lot of possible development for them and b) exciting young players next summer will say not a chance I'm coming there to sit on the bench.
He's only ever one defeat away from half the people turning on him. Joey wants him sacked just for sending an 18 year unproven prospect on loan. First priority every year is to ensure our safety. We can blood players in the second half of the season. There is no rush.

I'm not sure that's actually true though. I was saying to someone the other day, Baines did come straight into the team and did well but he couldn't get back in after he'd missed a couple of months with injury and Lescott had been doing well in his absence. Jagielka started 40 games in his first season, he wasn't the first name on the teamsheet like he became later but he wasn't really bedded in slowly. Arteta went straight into the team and very very quickly became a fan favourite, there was mass hysteria in the summer we signed him permanently because there were rumours we couldn't afford his wages, and he was player of the season and players player of the season in his first year.

"They got their way"?
He was leaving for United whatever. If he'd had 100% support and a statue outside Goodison's main entrance he'd have left for United. He's very lucky, most clubs supporters would never have accepted him back after the way he deceived the fan base.
If you wanted a manager gone, and he leaves for another club, than you got your way.. Simple as.

( not sure how that doesnt click with you )

You are just waffling nonsense now, over the most pointless discussion.

A bit dramatic.
Is it? He really screwed us over. Left with two games to go in the season. After verbally accepting the Man United job months before, then attempted to sign some of our best players after trying to unsettled them. (worked with Fellaini). Think we welcomed him bac
I think people need to grew up a bit. Did you have hurty feelings?
Just saw it for what it was, there's a video interview on YouTube,Moyes explaining the whole recruitment process.Basically Fergie rang him up and summoned him to his house to crown him.Moyes at Fergie's request told nobody at Everton he was going until the last minute not caring if that left us in the lurch. I didn't want him gone then (very few did) and now he's a busted flush I look forward to someone who looks to win games rather than setting up not to lose. Not difficult to understand?

Sounds like hurty feelings.

It didn’t leave us in the lurch though did it?
