So, for clarity, 9+ pts from the European spots come the end of the season would be a negative outcome, yes?

No….

I can’t believe I need to explain this.

Forest currently have 5 points and are 19th in the table. The teams in the likely European spots 5th/6th at the moment have 14 points, that extrapolates out to about 66 over 38 games which is a decent benchmark of where European qualification in Europa/conference might normally be.

If Forest were to attain 66 points from where they are now they would need 61 points which is more than 2 points per game for the remaining 30 games. 2 points per game over a full season gets you 76 points plus which is putting you in champions league football most seasons.

So basically the Dyche critics would like his Forest team which are currently 19th to show champions league form over 30 games as a minimum requirement and anything less than that will be mocked as a failure. Anyone with a brain can see that isn’t likely to happen.

It is extremely unlikely Forest will qualify for Europe this season via the league.

I don’t think that’s what the Dyche critics - of which I am a vociferous one - are saying at all. Personally I’m just trying to find the baseline for Dyche supporters’ expectations so I can mercilessly beat you over the head with them at the end of the season or when he’s sacked, whichever comes first.

Well they’re not 19th, they’re 18th. And they showed Champions League form over the first 30 games last season, which is why they were in a Champions League place. They’ve since strengthened the squad to the tune of about £200m. Over to you Sean. Don’t let Mr Marinakis down.

They’ll shout very loudly but won’t actually give you an expectation themselves, because they’re preparing to get the party poppers out for him “keeping them up”.

There’s 30 games to play, this is a very expensively assembled squad full of firepower and depth in the attacking positions. I expect a bare minimum of 12th and quarter finals of the Europa League really, and I bet Mr Marinakis would see that as disappointing.

Didn’t you want Dyche to stay? The fella whose football is the definition of turgid, but you also respect Martínez because he “brought back football on the deck”? Make it make sense.
Stay and finish the job...which would have happened without employing Moyes, as we know.

If we had, we wouldn't have the 'Stuck with Moyes' problem we have now. 🤷‍♂️

Such a good man manager that he slapped one of the players and kicked off a fight whilst the players couldn't wait to see the back of him

You'd think they had Simeone based on that forum

They've been hit by a bombshell mate. They're running round like headless chickens and posting utter nonsense to try and deal with the fact they're evaluation of the manager they believe to be terrible is bogus and he's still a much in demand PL manager.

It's hysterical.
