I doubt Woltemade even knew what an Everton was a few months back, let alone would have ever been coming here, hence how we've ended up with Barry Chuckle instead of a big German goal machine.

There might have been a chance there once Bayern walked away from the price before Newcastle had to replace Isak.

We will never know now obviously but it will always be the "And here's what you could have won" signing of this window for me.

After Frank became the Coventry manager, I go on the main Coventry forum after their games, to see what`s going on, as I like to see how he`s doing.

I don`t watch their games, so can only go by what they`re saying about Simms on that forum and hardly any of it is positive.

If he`s not cut out for the Championship and it seems to be only a matter of time, until he`s sold to a league one club or goes back to the SPL.

You`ve also got to remember, that when we sold Simms, we were slowly sliding towards administration and you get the feeling that the sale of Simms for a half decent fee, wasn`t something we were really in a position to turn down.

I do agree though, that since Lukaku went, our recruitment of strikers has been shockingly bad.

I don`t think Newcastle was his first choice either, he seemed to be waiting for a Champs League club to come in for him.

….i know exactly what you mean but the Beto who finished last season is far superior. I think it’s a fair comparison with Barry and Chermiti at this point in time.

Not really, just a reasonable assessment of the truth. Woltemade wanted CL football so wasn't coming here, and Barry wanted to move to the Prem, so it was a deal we could get done, but so far, he's shown absolutely nothing to suggest he's a good signing or will be good business.

Maybe. I dont wanna write the lad off just yet, but for me, I don't even see any real greenshoots or positive signs. Early days, but so far it looks like we've spent £27m on Chermiti 2.0
