2025/26 Thierno Barry

There ARE 'serious issues behind the scenes' The club know they have seriously (bad language removed) "up" on this Barry signing AND it didnt take long to fathom that out.

Why oh why didn't we desperately try to offload McNeil and Patterson to get just a little bit more funds for a better striker. Hell, why wasn't Beto also sold so we could have got a more 'proven' £40-50m striker (which we then could easily have afforded) and then a second one brought in on loan?

We're now left with having paid almost £60 million on two woeful strikers and around 6 years of salaries in total.

Another disasterclass by Everton FC.

Barry £27.5mil rising to £30mil (?)
KDH £25mil rising to £28mil
Rohl £17.5mil

That is a lot of money for 2 weaker replacements & an injury prone player.

Thank you David Moyes.

He has played 208 minutes and has had one opportunity to score when he slid in from a cross
What is that down to poor service or just poor movement I would say the latter
He should watch some videos of Halland and learn how to read the game at least get in the position to miss

Gents, let’s cut out all of the good intended arguments for either or neither of our forwards coming good, look at the cold hard evidence .
Neither have scored and look like scoring. Indeed one, (Barry) looks like he doesn’t want to be here. Both have shown that they cannot play up front on their own but we don’t change the system for either of them.

So we have them we have tried both and failed but not from the start with any sort of support so where is this issue lying now?
We all know strikers cost a hell of a lot more than what we have paid for these two jokers and we can all see that they are not working and yet other so called smaller clubs are picking up forwards who score?

Is the problem not then on recruitment?

Callum Wilson leaves the magpies for West Ham on a free and still can’t get a game yet walks into our team.

For Gods sake our forward line is so bad Antonio who has just recovered from a life threatening car crash and he starts before the two of our jokers and still we have no forwards in the u21,19 17,16 teams coming through.

If they are their why not try one on the bench instead of the extra keepers.

Our issues are not the players, it’s the team that are picking them.
let's write in bold to make our opinions look like facts.

also, your post says we have tried both....

thierno Barry has played 223 minutes of premier league football across 8 matches. That averages to 27 minutes per game. Some less some more.

To write a player off after stop start bit part appearances, is a bit ridiculous.

Whether there is more behind the scenes with training and Moyes I don't know, or if he just doesn't fancy him.

But as I said before, Beto is not the answer. So I think Moyes needs to give the lad a proper try.

It's either that or Ndiaye gets a run up top and we get Dibling on the field off the right

I'm not seeing the lack of effort in the pitch several posters mention I think he just looks incredibly nervy such as the crystal palace which was a poor showing. He has the occasional decent touch but he just looks overwhelmed which players new to the league can display. He still has had limited opportunities to influence the game as we don't seem to factor linking a striker into our attacks around the box. He could be proved to be a dud , but at least give the dude some time to adapt. I think the original notion was that Beto would be sufficient as the main striker while Barry got acclimated obviously that's not working and now it's heaping even more scrutiny on a player that hasn't settled in yet

I’m guessing you don’t know what the word relatively means? I’m aware that the fee we paid doesn’t get you a world class player, I’ve never suggested it did. For Everton, £30m is a lot of money, that’s just a fact. The really simple point is that he’s played 14 times in an Everton shirt now and I haven’t actually seen him do anything noteworthy yet. It’s not massively deep or complex, I’m just saying I can see why people are a bit concerned - it’s nothing to with numbers and everything to do with just watching the lad play football.

Yes, i do know what the word "relatively" means. Hence why i used it in the completely correct context.

No offense but is English your first language? Because you arent making much sesne.

30m isnt alot of money not even for everton. Especially when the whole leauge spent over £3b. With 15 of the 20 premier league teams spent over £100m and the 16th spent just under £100m.

You said you know that £30m doesn't get you a world class player but £30m doesnt even get you a established player anymore. Especially for a striker if you want a decent first team striker you need to be spending double what we spent on barry.

You say its all about watching him play but completely ignore the fact hes played 10 games this season across all comps, started 2 in the league and played 231 in the league and 106 in the league cup but you think youve seen enough to be concerned? The lads hardly played for us, betos played more then double the minutes and scored 1 goal.

Barrys put in some decent performances in his sporadic appearances against Brighton and second half against liverpool. The lad just needs time, there literally nothing to be worried about.

I still think he deserves a few starts in a row to actually try find some rhythm with the team, purely because I know BETO isn't good enough, and I don't know for sure yet, that this lad can't be, coz he hasn't had the minutes.

….could be the last thing he needs. Looks totally lost. If there’s a player in there, take him out the firing line until he’s showing he’s ready to play.

Never understand this ‘run of games mentality’.

Stop with this agenda. KDH is absolutely top class. Rohl will also be a good signing.

Replace those with Dibling for £40m and Aznou for £10m and you've got the effective lost spend this summer.

there you go bro :D

This is it filtered for only Centre Forwards. You need to click on the 'fee' column to sort it by that though.

Makes for hilarious reading. The only ones that have scored any goals yet really cost over £60m. Maybe it usually takes time for players to settle into new teams or something? Love to see who people think we should have bought instead.
