2025/26 Thierno Barry

Id go back and check if i was you because my reply is completely relevant to your post and the post you quoted makes no reference of R9 in it sooooooooo... i dont know what to tell you.

Again £30 isnt relatively big money when you look at the money spent on strikers in the last summer. Liverpool spent £220 on two strikers, Newcastle spent £70m on one, United spent £70 on a striker, arsenal spent £60m on a striker, chelsea £60m, galatasaray spent £70m.

Bayern paid £15m for a striker on loan. Hojlunds loan fee was probably around the same amount we paid for the down payment for barry. I mean bloody broja went for £20m.

Barry was the 18th most expensive striker signed in the summer. So i dont think we paid alot for him personally if you look at the price players are going for.
Can we see that list? Be curious to see how the others are getting on as well.

I’m guessing you don’t know what the word relatively means? I’m aware that the fee we paid doesn’t get you a world class player, I’ve never suggested it did. For Everton, £30m is a lot of money, that’s just a fact. The really simple point is that he’s played 14 times in an Everton shirt now and I haven’t actually seen him do anything noteworthy yet. It’s not massively deep or complex, I’m just saying I can see why people are a bit concerned - it’s nothing to with numbers and everything to do with just watching the lad play football.

Roma need to help us out

He 'deserves' an extended run in the side now simply because his only competition is so bad — it would be appalling if Moyes persists with Beto now unless there are serious issues behind the scenes with Barry such as a bad attitude, terrible in training, etc.

I genuinely believe playing neither of them would result in more goals, but for some reason the manager doesn't want to try it.
There ARE 'serious issues behind the scenes' The club know they have seriously (bad language removed) "up" on this Barry signing AND it didnt take long to fathom that out.

I mean, I'm not saying I don't believe you, but if there were real issues I don't think he'd be involved in matchday squads if he's considered a bad influence around other players, etc.

£30m gets you a better forward from the Championship than Barry, every day of the week. I can’t remember the last foreign forward (with no PL experience) who done a decent job for us, yet we continue to waste money on them.

You can't spend £27m on a player and leave him out of a matchday squad, know matter how bad he is. Not only would the club look red faced and stupid but what message about the club does it send out to us fans. The club and manager know theyve dropped two big clangers signing these two ( can't even use the word "strikers" )

Don't think he's a bad influence, just a bit hapless. Maybe a move to Italy might do him good. That's were Roma should step up.

£30, what are we complaining about then, we could paper him up and give him away as christmas present..

Get over it ! The Giraffe is crap. Everton will be lucky to get 10M from a Belgian pro league club for him. He scored a lot in the second Belgian division...
Stop blowing your gasket and go back and re-read the post, 10m would be the best investment we've or anyone has ever made..

Why oh why didn't we desperately try to offload McNeil and Patterson to get just a little bit more funds for a better striker. Hell, why wasn't Beto also sold so we could have got a more 'proven' £40-50m striker (which we then could easily have afforded) and then a second one brought in on loan?

We're now left with having paid almost £60 million on two woeful strikers and around 6 years of salaries in total.

Another disasterclass by Everton FC.

I'd agree with the first two,Beto seems to be useful as an impact sub,If we'd had a decent number 9,Beto could do a job coming on if we were behind chasing a point. But that's a moot point now. Our owners need to do some creative accounting come January.
