Dogs

Smaller breeds are easier to manage, Bry…

But from my experience with Dachshunds, my aunty has one, and they’re a very needy breed, as in, they’ll want to be around you all time, and they’ll want constant attention.

Expect them to whimper and make noises if they don’t get what they want.

But they’re an indoor breed, so if you don’t mind them being around you and under your feet most of the time, then it’s ok.
Easier to manage, however (whilst it is personal preference, of course) my take has been that medium to larger breeds are more fun to be around.

When we had smaller breeds, a walk was just on the lead and a bit meh and repetitive, however our larger dogs (including the current one) it's play.

I can take our current dog to the park, and she's in and out of the bushes, chasing squirrels, playing ball and generally being loving to everyone.

On that, we agree, mate.

My personal theory on why that is:
Bigger dogs, bigger brains, thus more intelligence, and are capable of doing a variety of more things.

That’s just simple logic, but am I being mean in saying that?! 😳🫢

Anyone here manage more than one dog on their own? I’m basically flying solo (my daughter doesn’t count, cos she’s chronically online 😅).

I’ve got the chance to take in a bonded pair, which would bring us to three dogs total…though our current senior mostly just naps 99% of the time. Yeah, I’ve thought about time away from them and have arrangements for dog-sitting and professional care.

I just want to know: is managing multiple dogs alone as challenging as I imagine?
Got my rescue mutant and frequently look after my mar's Cocker. Bring out the worst in each other. Nightmare.
