Ha, I didn’t know I swear! I like him as a player, but fitness dodgy obviously and his character sometimes looked a bit suspect too. Think he can do well there tho - especially if they get someone like Rohl as manager.He’s showed zero evidence of that in his career to date but I wish the lad well.

He just never looked hungry for me, never carried a threat (Barry does look worryingly similar so far).
Talented technically but he didn’t ever seem like he’d score goals regularly.

Yeah I know what you mean about hunger, that would be my worry. For all Beto’s flaws, it’s much more forgivable when you can see that a player is giving it everything they’ve got isn’t it? Can’t get my head round Barry’s on pitch demeanour at the moment - I can’t understand why he’s not desperate to impress and bursting with energy and drive.

His time here was blighted by injuries. However you don't get into the Sporting Lisbon academy if you are rubbish, its one of the best around. He clearly showed some promise in that awful preseason under Dyche where he was possibly the only positive during it then he got injured and vanished for a while. I don't by any stretch think he is the next Haaland or anything but I do think there must be something as he has show flashes but he is probably just one of these lads who needs a proper coach type who can get the best out of what he has.

I understand Barry has to reach a moment where he is able to demonstrate his skills or the opportunities will eventually dissipate , I also feel his teammates to find ways to incorporate him in attack. There's times even with Beto they haven't looked like they are considering providing them a solid chance at goal
