2025/26 David Moyes

I don't get this, he set his team out and we won. Is Pickford not there to make saves?
We soaked up pressure and hit them with sucker punches.
By the way, we also had some good periods in the game, particularly the second half.

The special one was a master at soaking up pressure and sucker punches. Look no further than the slippy G game

If you watch a boxing match and one boxer gets dominated.

He's knocked down multiple rounds and struggles to get up on counts of 7, 8 & 9.

Out on his feet at the halfway point and on his back twice a round, cut and bleeding.

Then he elects to come out fighting and ends up winning.

Do you congratulate him on turning it around (yes) or do you praise his teams tactical masterclass for soaking up pressure?

Despite him being destroyed and knocked down badly many many times.

I'd go with praising the change in tactics, congratulating the Everton players and absolutely roasting Moyes for the very poor first half.

Too simplistic a view. Cups are great but not the best way to judge a managerial reign as the aforementioned luck plays its part in cup runs. I prefer to look at the league campaigns and Moyes is clearly superior in that area despite the worse Merseyside Derby record

You value getting mid-table or slightly higher than a cup win and mastering the age old enemy?

Interesting preference.

Ahem
The words Dyche & Benitez do not equate to a united front with this club , never will.

They should never have been anywhere near the club under any circumstances.
But they were here and we were doing the wrong thing by attempting to shatter any unity of action to prevent us going down.

In the end most people saw that - especially under Dyche when we were handed points deductions designed by outsiders to bury this club - most saw the danger and got behind Dyche for that most dangerous of seasons, at least.

Nonsense. Trophies are everything, anything else is just making up the numbers.

Yeah. Like I said, and I quote you: It's not a real 'split amongst the fanbase'

The few you're talking about on here, going back to the latter days of Moyes first spell in charge, aren't even posting. @chicoazul is still alive, I believe. There was @Goat and Reidy, and Ijjy, D&D, LCAB, Baz (THT) and a host of others. The numbers were much smaller. like, but one of his his biggest critics back then? Yep, you've guessed it.. Mr. @davek

By the time he left, there ws an influx of Kipper hounds, but it was never a cut and shut case. The arguments wet on for about 5 years of his reign, and nobody could ever come up with a compelling argument to sack him. He's still the best manager we've had since Howard, and he's not buried with a bottle of sherry just yet.

Lol. you clearly wish. Me and the Everton boys are not gonna be joining in to hound him out anytime soon.

I don't get all this. I don't "wish" anything. That's a childish response. I've just given my opinion. I haven't talked about hounding him out. What's that got to do with anything. It's all just overly sensitive stuff really. I've said I'm fine with him until the summer and won't be losing my head if they keep him beyond that.

There's a conversation to be had. He can actually be the best manager we have had since Howard but also be disliked by lots of fans. I mean we have been crap since then, so he's not had to do too much to shine. You're hardly showering him with praise there

I value regular and consistent qualification for Europe yes which Moyes achieved in his first spell. Interesting that you think 2 matches a season is more important than the clubs being a consistent top 7 side as we were under Moyes so not a mid-table team. It's the same metric I'll be judging Moyes on again and not how we do against that lot
