Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

You’re hungry - you’ll eat it  To turn you even greener - sardine and tomato! Actually I quite liked it .
My dad used to do that for us (or pilchards, otherwise known as Cornish sardines:)) but he'd serve it spread on toast and put back under the grill to crisp up;. It was surprisingly lovely.

Cal hated Sardines, but I've sometimes thought about re-introducing it to my diet but I'm terrified by those tins that you have to unwind with a little key.

Those tins with keys are absolutely lethal. Dad banned them in our house after my Mum cut her thumb open on one and fainted! Mind you the ordinary tin openers weren’t much better.

Mrs bl and I went out for our anniversary lunch today, I had rice pudding for desert , now that was a staple of my childhood. My dad was a miner and my mum used to make these huge basins of rice pudding for him and we invariably got some too , happy days 🙂
Happy anniversary. I love rice pudding. My Nan used to make it every Sunday when we went for Sunday dinner. You couldn't move afterwards!

All come with a ring pull these days ;)

Oh noooo. Tinned mackerel and tinned sardines are a staple diet for my lunch. No key for the tin now it's a simple ring pull and they are delicious with either savory rice or my favourite which is Moroccan cous cous with additional scaricha sauce.
Cheap , healthy and nutritious lunch.

Morning everyone,

Got back from Lesbos late last night. Weather was mixed with some sunny days and a couple with rain and cloud but it was absolutely freezing at night.

Granny trouble in the care home whilst we were away so I will yet again have to pick up the pieces and try to sort a way forward.

It's getting to the point that it's more hassle to go away than the benefits.

Anyway here's a couple of photos of Molyvos to get your appetite for next summer...
