Like with Barry, negotiating a fee if he signs on, he was out of contract too and sure we paid like 2.5mill ot something similarWe’ll get grealish for another loan, and then he’s available on a free..
Am seriously wondering if it isn’t a deal to get Grealish “Cheaper”.The Kalvin Philips shouts are mad considering how badly he did for Moyes at West Ham. I'd only do it if Man City paid us a fee.
Possibly. Just agent talk I reckon.Am seriously wondering if it isn’t a deal to get Grealish “Cheaper”.
City reduce the price of Grealish (which is probably a bit high to start with) by the cost of Phillip’s remaining wages and get both of them off the payroll and out?
Essentially we end up paying City what would have been the full estimation of Grealish, but get Phillips for free.
Not even thenThe Kalvin Philips shouts are mad considering how badly he did for Moyes at West Ham. I'd only do it if Man City paid us a fee.
Potentially we could have rivals in terms of a top Italian team or similar - he'd smash it somewhere like that. Would be a question around whether he wants to uproot his family though. For Grealish PSR rules or whatever its replacement will be have essentially killed somebody coming in and paying 30-50 million for a 30 year old with no resale value unless you’re one of the top 3/4 revenue generating teams in the league. There will be a deal to be done, the rules affect City like they affect everyone else and him off their wages and say £20 million for him is more valuable then him just languishing in their squad taking up space and resources.
There’s absolutely no way Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or Spurs under Frank buy him. He doesn’t fit their strategy. United, they’re daft enough to buy anyone but would he go there after being at City I’m not so sure. I think that leaves Villa and Newcastle who are both closer to PSR rule infringements so I can’t see him going to either of those teams. Beyond these teams I don’t think any other clubs are commercially big enough to make the deal make sense. They may be better run then us and have a better team but commercially they’re to small to sustain the deal it would take to sign him
We’re obviously not buying that fat arse pudding Kalvin Phillips.

It’s why everything from the club concerning him has been love and cuddles, as opposed to everyone else were it’s all based around performance and being professional.Yer I agree there are potentially teams abroad that would look at him. I was just talking domestically. He might fancy a change or he might want to stay in the Prem. He has a young kid doesn’t he? I wouldn’t be surprised if a deal was worked out with us. Stops him having to uproot his family and it’s not far from his home in the midlands. He may pull a Kane though and fancy a challenge abroad. Whatever he does I’m sure we’ll wish him well because his attitude and impact has been first class upto now
Funnily enough, fella I know through work (has corporate hospitality seats at the Emirates but no idea how he'd know this) was absolutely adamant all through the summer that we were after both Grealish and Philllips, but that Phillips wouldn't happen unless he recovered from his injury
