Why do you think he's overrated?

I don't really see us spending 'proper' money on a teenager in the jan or summer windows (IE, to go straight into the first team). The manager next season already should ideally be giving major minutes to Dibling, Armstrong and Aznou, there's only so much to go round.

Why do you think he's overrated?

I still think he's good, don't get me wrong. I watched him when he was at Charlton, was a cut above everyone on the pitch that day (apart from a young Ben White, who looked excellent in a Leeds shirt).

But he's got qualities that endear him to the English fans and media. Bit like a Mason Mount - he puts himself about and covers a lot of ground - but when it comes down to it I don't think he has the technical ability or game intelligence to be a top top midfielder. I prefer CMs who can control a game. We as a nation don't tend to produce them, is all.

The way some sections of the commentariat refer to him would suggest he's a lot better than he is. Still good though and those qualities I think would make him good for us. Fans would love him

I agree with you but simply for the sake of balance they also let Gyockores go. Chelsea let KDB and Salad go. It happens in football.
Players can improve, however Ferguson is a player who had shown fantastic promise and whose form fell off the edge of a cliff.
Was it simply injury related or were there external reasons? No idea but he's had chances now at Wham and Roma and neither of them have taken a punt on him.

Chelsea were a top prem team and it’s hard to break into .. not like Brighton

Also those two players … KDB went to Wolfsburg… smashed it and and was bought for 50m… Salah went totally and played well enough to get a 34m transfer to one of the top prem teams….

They didn’t do go westham and do nothing and then go on loan and the loan club want to send them back …

Gallagher is way better than Alcaraz and Tim. Our fanbase would love him if he came, especially after a couple of games. Good player and leaves nothing out on the pitch.

He’s a good player and I’d take him … but I’d prefer a RB, LB and ST before we go for another midfielder

Bit of there aren’t any available then get him in … keep the squad Roger and add the full backs and at in the summer and we start to look like a decent team

prefer gallagher to mainoo. Think he would contribute to our fantastic press and can use the ball. Mainoo is not mobile enough, but better on the ball. Not sure he would suit us.

Gallagher as the right side 8 with KDH as left side 8 would have a good balance to it. Alcaraz and Rohl to cover. Garner and Tim for the 6.

Rooney played week in week out here? He started 26 out of 34 games he was available for in the 03/04 season, this daft argument that Moyes used him sparingly has already been put to bed.

I agree, he’s been the best. Not many player get the chance so I’m not sure why Moyes is getting stick 20 years on for not playing a growing teenager every week. It adds more strength to suggest that he was handled well
