January Transfer Window 2026

Nah, enjoy Grealish whilst he is here but there is no plausible way of making that permanent that would make any kind of financial sense, certainly not for a player of that age. City are never going to agree to the type of fee that we need which would have to be like £20m at the absolute tops, probably less, and he would need to take a massive wage cut to fit in with the new regime which will be much tighter on stuff like that imo.

It will absolutely be a negotiable deal if he wants to stay.

It really won't, its the kind of stupid recruitment deal that has caused us problems in recent years. That fee would need to come down to less than half of what it is now as would his wages. I just don't see it happening, but we will see at the end of the season. Of course we want Jack to stay but it needs to be on our terms.

Ok well let's see.

It's not a stupid deal, he's already value for money.

If we can make it work going forward then I'll be made up, if not walk away.

Any price currently mooted is absolutely negotiatable. City don't want his contract on their hands and the biggest factor in a transfer is the player's wish.

I read it somewhere after Grealish signed, that the buy clause is not £50 mil it is a lot lower than that, I am thinking it was Guila Bould who reported it, but not 100% sure it was her.

Sort of agree, however if he carries on and gets back in the England team then all of a sudden we keep moving forward he might think yeah actually this is for me here. Hes not going back to City to play, especially under Pep, so I think Everton are in a prime position to say to City, look we want him but its 20-30m, we ain’t paying 50.

won’t be any we’re near that

We’ll get grealish for another loan, and then he’s available on a free..

no we will just sign him
That’s why I personally think we went hard for Dibbling knowing Grealish won’t be here next season hope I’m wrong.

and no it’s as he’s young

And why would City agree to this?
To free up wages and a squad space..

When pep wants someone gone, their gone..

Tho jack would have to refuse any other offer that might come in for him for that to happen.

Jacks big aim is the World Cup, I think we will know more about his desire once that final squad announcement is made..

Their wont be another world cup chance for him after this, and it will hit him hard..

Just hope we've shown him a bright enough future by then.

I can see where you are coming from but it will be on our terms (or terms we can agree to or otherwise) because it’s still a contingent deal - we can walk away. So we can negotiate a deal which suits if City and the player are amenable. Even if we don’t sign him permanently it still looks like it’ll be proven to be a really good deal.
